I would obviously go upstream looking for the source of the water. You can survive several days on water alone, so I would just consume the water as I go along. I would not eat anyone. Mostly because there is no sure sign that help would come along by the time their body rotted enough to become uneatable. If I do follow the water, I have a better chance of survival because there could be vegetation around the source, most likely a lake or pond. This would allow everyone to feed and no one to die. From there I would look for nearby objects to fashion into a gigantic help sign (most likely tree branches and stones). Then at night or close to then I would light it on fire, as well as the fire-pit I constructed for me and my friends. On the pit, I would roast up some veggies and creepy crawlies. Depending on the time of year and environment, I would probably construct a shelter as well. I also forgot to mention that I would take whatever I could from the truck that I could use in aiding my survival (which means tearing the truck apart). Hopefully I could find something to boil water in, to help kill parasites. The last thing you want is to get poisoned by something in the water.
If I do follow TC's rules and am forced to eat someone, it really wouldn't make sense to. Mostly because if I kill them day 1, their meat will have spoiled by day 2. You have to pretty much refrigerate meat immediately because after the first few hours, it's done with. So basically, killing them would yield me a couple more hours of life, but for what? Honestly? I killed my friend for a couple more hours of life? Even if you got the meat to cook, it will still be spoiled by day 2 because of the hot desert heat. You will be eating death.
