Do you believe in love at first sight?

Do you believe people can confess their love within just an hour of their meeting like Romeo and Juliet?

Well I don't.... I'd like to believe it but... I don't

No,that's virtually impossible. How can you possibly truly love someone after knowing them for an hour?

What it really is is LUST.Some dude thinks he "loves" a girl cause she's a piece of "hot ass"...that's the way everybody is now,and it really annoys me...no one seems to love anymore...it's all about SEX SEX SEX ...

Impossible. "Love" goes beyond just a physical attraction. A more appropriate term would be "lust."

I didn't believe it, but it happened to me. Unfortunately, due to her having some serious personal issues at the time, i only managed to stay in a relationship with her for eight months. But i was still in love with her when i broke up with her. And i met her yesterday, almost eight years later (yes i'm old, get over it. Hmm actually i'm the one that have something to get over...) And i felt exactly the same feeling as i felt the first time i saw her. Sometimes you just can't help yourself.

More so, appearance can be so much more than looks. There's eyes, body language, expressions, that actually can tell a lot of things about another person.

So, yes, according to my personal experience, it can happen, but don't bet your life on it.

well first of all i kind of meant all of those things when i said looks, anyway, i kind of know what you mean, my junior i dated a freakin superfox, but she was just plain out there and dumped me for no reason (not joking) at all after just about a month, it took me forever to get over her and id still probebly get back with her if i could, then again, she was REALLY hot

Whether or not you believe in love at first sight depends on how you define love. But love can't be defined. Not only is it an abstract concept, it's also a relative concept.

What actually is love, besides a chemical imbalance? An emotional need to be with someone? A desire to put them and their needs before your own?

I think someone can love someone at first sight. It may be lust, but what if that lust is super lust? What if you see someone so beautiful that you feel you need them?

I have first hand experience of lust directly resulting in love, but the question I ask myself is when did the lust turn into love - or was the love there from the start?

I don't know, but I knew the moment I saw her that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

Love at first sight implies physical attraction, which by definition rules out love. So no, it can't happen.

No. However, making love is possible without knowing someone for more than 2 minutes. It all depends on what emotionally moves you.

It might turn into love later, but initially shouldn't it just be described as an infatuation?

Bingo.

Yeah i agree with this. Lots of love is not actually love nowadays and that is why the divorce rate is so high.

Depends on your definition, but anyone serious in my opinion cannot have "love at first site".

Would it be described as lust if you fell in love with someone because of, say, their smile or something?

/End of Thread. It's impossible to ''fall in love'' with someone you've just met.
