You and every person under 23 seems to think so. As a software developer, and as someone who is not stupid (I don't need my hand held) and has never gotten a virus, I would never be caught dead running a MAC.

I can build a PC more with more power, cheaper, and with the exact software/features I want. PC is great for the same reason it has always been. You aren't limited. If you like your hand held, and want a simple Facebook machine and/or want to do graphic design (and have a crap ton of money to blow that you don't need), sure, go for MAC. If you are competent with a computer, you would be insane to buy one. Of course, try telling that to a college kid these days.

Be unique! Be creative! Express yourself! Buy the same computer everyone else has!

Macs don't have touch screens. Safari is the worst major browser available today, IE9 is easily better and IE10 is about to come out. Every program you listed (except photobooth) is available for Windows. Vegas is only available for Windows.

I am a loyal mac user. At work I use Win7 (required by my company) but at home I use Mac because it provides a superior experience for MY PERSONAL NEEDS. That being said I have to correct some mistakes that have been thrown out.

Mac is a computer, Windows is an operating system. Why are you comparing them? I think you mean OS X, not Mac, otherwise the comparison doesn't make sense.Toxic-Seahorse

Firstly, this is half true, half wrong. Apple names both their hardware and software Mac, short for Macintosh. Apples OS is not called OS X, its Mac OS X. Which stands for Macintosh Operating System 10. Somewhat of a lazy name.

Secondly, to the TC, that was the worst argument for Mac I have ever heard and I love their OS. Touch Screen, running games, and application support are none of the things Mac provides. The one thing that makes Mac OS X superior to Windows is that it is written on top of a UNIX kernel. Its fully UNIX compliant. Windows is the only OS on the market that isnt UNIX based. NO ONE can argue that UNIX is the best OS in distribution as far as power, safety, speed, efficiency. Now one can make a strong case for Linux and for a work environment Linux is the superior choice between the 3. But for mainstream users and for personal home use Apple is better. More convenient, more user friendly, more features, more compatible, and better for entertainment.

Having used both OS X and Windows for a while now, I have to say that Windows/PCs are overall a better purchase. Windows 7 is superior to any version of OS X unless you don't know anything about computers and just want everything simplified to the extreme. The hardware of Macs from an aesthetic perspective is nice, but not worth the rediculous price tag. Having a slightly thinner and sleeker design is not worth having laughably bad internal specs for the price. Again, PCs are simply better all-around purchases.

Yeah, macs are great for the compute illiterate, but for anybody that actually knows anything about computers, OS X is extremely limiting and the amount of programs available for it is laughable.

It is and those who say otherwise can't afford them. Plain and simple.

Mac is the Rolls Royce of computers, Windows is for the townspeople so they can have access to the computer world.

Tell that to the recording industry, and magazine publishers, and the film industry. I'm also sure the makers of South Park would love to know they don't have a "real job." They use macs right off the shelf. Why? Because they're that good.

A mac is a computer. Windows is an operating system. They can't be compared. Your argument doesn't make any sense.

Pretty sure film and movie are one in the same. Proof? Look it up dude. Anyone with half a brain knows that Macs dominate the "artistic" realm of business. Ask any photographer what PC they use.

They are not exclusively used, (as Windows, macs, and linix are all used by some in the industry), but macs are disproprtionatly used more by media professionals.

Hell, my new Informatics college at my university has about a 2:1 ratio of macs (macpros) to windows.

And the windows are almost exlusively used by the "reporter" students for written/typed reports, and for running the projecters in every room.
