Choice: PC
Reason: You don't have to pay an arm and a leg for something that's not worth it.

[QUOTE="trubluah"]One thing that mac users are failing to realize is that the reason why Mac's run well with OS X, is because it's dedicated hardware for the OS X system. You don't have to worry about driver compatibility with the latest and greatest hardware that comes out on the market. Each hardware component has an Apple bios chip to where only those cards and crap will work with apple "LOGIC BOARDS" (aka the standard term that all real computer users use, motherboard  ). Apple picks the hardware they want you to use... not vice versa.AirGuitarist87Is that really such a bad thing? I can't think of anyone that actively enjoys searching and installing drivers. When I switched my laptop to XP, searching for the specific drivers took the best part of an afternoon and I'm pretty tech-savvy. I'm hoping to get a MacBook one day and the whole "it works" thing is one of the key selling points. Yeah, I can't do XYZ yadda-yadda-yadda but I honestly think the whole "Apple sucks" thing is blown way out of proportion. Not necessarily, however it makes it harder for those who crave the latest and greatest or if you have to replace defective hardware. What if I want a dual core graphics card? It'll most likely work with PC Windows and Linux... but I can bet it probably wont have support for mac's. It's 50/50, but my opinion is a negative. I like to mix and match and finding drivers for laptops are not that hard. I have a old 2000 toshiba laptop, I found drivers for it right away with google.

It's just way too overpriced and not really any more convenient than a Windows based PC. I agree with the price, but disagree about the convenience. I've had to set up several laptops, including my own, in the past year. On all occassions it's been a case of finding video & audio codecs, deleting bloatware like Norton, downloading and installing firewalls, anti-virus and spyware software, getting rid of UAC (on Vista) and for some reason the hard-drive is always partitioned (dunno what it's like on Mac, but this really bugs me). Obviously I need more experience with newer Macs as my G3 Mac is very old now, but from using my friend's it is a very pick up and go OS.
Totally agreed, proof you don't need apple hardware.dual boot W7 and osx86 10.9 on a custom built PC. free software, and you choose the price of your hardware

And you do realize that the OS X was designed on top of the picked hardware from apple right? Thus you don't have any issues, plus no choice for upgrades for that matter.Macs because they have less errors and hoops to jump through. Also, they don't take half an hour to start up/turn off.

PC.
I can't do anything I want to with a MAC. I can't play games I want, I can't customize it and I think its some stupid fad brand.
I chose a PC, because I like some of Dell's designs on their laptops. Plus the studio desktops look pretty cool.
But also because of price. Before I even started to customize my laptop it was in the 600 or 700 range. By the time I chose what I wanted it was still less pricey.
I might get a Mac one day, but only if I can come into some money.
I think macs are better because after i got a vista the keyboard sucked and had to replace the battery every two days.
Microsoft XP is okay, but i think macs have that sleek look and are easier to use.

Macs do look sleek and it is a manufacturer that makes the hardware and the OS to work together, whereas, Microsoft OS is made to work with many manufacturers. The downside to Microsoft OS is drivers aren't always compatible forward or backward depending on the quality control of third party vendors.
All in all, both OEMs support different classes of users. Those who like to fully customize their system and tweak things to their heart's content would be best suited with a PC. Others who want everything nicely packaged and to dive right into creative works or other production can fall in love with the Mac.
It this day and age, its extremely rare to find a product that fits every individual, otherwise, we'd all be sporting extra large "chest high" slacks and suspenders to keep them from dropping to to the floor.
I like both Mac and PC for different reasons. I wouldn't mind owning a Mac if I had the cash for one, but my personally needs are best suited with a PC.
