Well that doesn't make mac's better than PC for gaming because PC is MUCH cheaper than mac and you'll need a VERY expensive mac to be able to play current games on max settings,in fact the mac pro doesn't even have high-end grafx cards like the 8800GTX.AARONRULZ1

Did I say Macs play them better than PC's? I said they play them just as well. Plus the Mac Pro's do really well on 3D Mark rankings, which given the hardware, is expected. As far as high end graphics cards go, since when was PC gaming about the latest release of GPU's? The X1900 XT is only behind the X1950 and XTX's.

Well you'll be paying a LOT just to get that X1900XT and thus its overpriced like hell, and OS X doesn't support directx 10.

If you're getting a Mac it's just 249USD more which is comparable. As far as DirectX is concerned just boot into Windows. Most people here seem to have no idea what Macs are capable of.

Er... I'm a PC user and don't own a Mac myself. However, on using the Mac Pro my brother owns I have to admit it is actually a great platform. Based on the responses thus far however, it seems that actually knowing something before you bash it is a bit too much for a fair number of people here.

[QUOTE="Atrus"][QUOTE="kutty12000"]What would be the cost of equipping a mac with a x1900xt. And also running a game currently at highest settings depends on what resolution you play at. edit: and the 7300GT is hardly a gaming card

The X1900XT costs an extra 249USD over the 7300GT for obvious reasons, and as far as the 7300GT is concerned you can run up to 4 of them in SLI. Contrary to your belief the 7300GT is a gaming card and was released in Spring of last year and is a respectable issue.

By this standard the 8800 stops being a gaming card in the next 10 months which is nothing more than playing into myth.

The 7300GT is one of the lowest end 7 series card available and was never released with the gamer in mind, it is solely for the every-day user who may want vista premium capabilities. And running 4 of them in Sli is not going to change anything, Sli is really only useful when you have a large monitor.
