Wow, sexism already in the first post! This shall be a hilariously sad thread.
Anyway, I don't care. As long as they're god.
Meh, usually guys make better characters. Don't know why that is, guess its harder for people to write women characters.
Plus they always go the route of increasing the t n a until it becomes ridiculous fan service.
It's because the majority of fiction writers are males and they don't know how to portray female characters without slipping into ridiculous stereotypes.Meh, usually guys make better characters. Don't know why that is, guess its harder for people to write women characters.

[QUOTE="spazzx625"]You get uncomfortable watching a woman? :/ I don't mind either as long as the story makes sense for it.WelisNo don't get me wrong. I don't get uncomfortable with women around me or watching them. But me playing as them in a game yeah. And no I am not sexist at all. I just prefer that male should be protagonist, but that is me. :) You're being a little sexist... You say you don't like watching women do "cool" stuff or be strong. Well guess what, women aren't any less awesome or capable of amazing feats than men. Women tend to make great protagonists in darker settings, and you should not just brush off playing as a woman because "oh man boobs are weird".
I prefer male protagonists because woman are weak. All those games and movies where women beat up legions of bad guys. LOL. false. Besides, who wants to listen to a story about kitchen work? Now I shall sit back and see which people bite.sonicare*gives shield*

Really? I would have thought it predominantly male in Hollywood but a lot of fiction writers of novels are female and still male characters are usually better.
You're right though.

Usually when I go sarcastic, I try to do it in such a blatantly obvious way. But some people still think I am dead serious.

Try to be a little less obvious next time for the sake of entertainment. Nibroc should be a role model.
Ultimately, I don't care. However, I'd like to see more respectable female protagonists who aren't either totally stereotypical women or mere sex symbols (or, even worse, both).ghoklebutter
They almost managed the entire film of Alien doing that with Ripley.
I like it when they work, and usually in an action setting a male is more suited. Look at a game like Uncharted, Chloe and Elena are beleivable and tough women. Then you have games where they wear no clothes but are able to take on an army with no scratches? Noooooo. I rather have Frank west take on zombies than be a lasy fighting zombies with sex.

Women can be great as leading role if the role they were given suits them. I like watching movies when female gets role as a psycho girlfriend, a obsessed stalker or something psychological. But being a bad ass with two pistols, half naked or something so fiction it only gets too mainstream. You know, big boobs, half naked and one shot every men around them, it gets too ridiculous.[QUOTE="Welis"][QUOTE="spazzx625"]You get uncomfortable watching a woman? :/ I don't mind either as long as the story makes sense for it.Deihjan
Periods.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"][QUOTE="FMAB_GTO"] tough women are the best!CHOASXIII
What's that got to do with the question?
Why men are better. They are too busy actually getting things done to be exciting and titillating. Oh snap!Females because male characters just bore me.

Oh, and another very good series of books that show VERY STRONG female protagonists, because god forbid girls wanting to play with swords, is The Shamer Chronicles by Lene Kaaberbøl. While I don't know if they translated well from Danish into English, those four books have helped me realise that I have just as much right to being a tomboy and play in the forest as the boys.

Men aren't better than women and since when do female game characters have periods?
You honestly take that seriously? *sigh*Why men are better.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"][QUOTE="CHOASXIII"]

They probably do, i just doubt its an integral plot point.
sick to death of male leads and the whole 'be a man!' and 'only males play video games!' mentality in the industry that tends to limit imagination and ideas. Smokescreened84
So true. It gets really irksome after a while.

Why men are better.FightingfanFvck you two. Fvck you beyond eternity. I hope you fvcking rot from the inside out, that your d!cks disappear and your nuts turn into pus-filled globs. You piss me off beyond belief, your narrowminded viewpoints on women are part of the reason why feminism becomes a bad word, because NO GOD FORBID THAT WOMEN CAN BE STRONG AND FERTILE AT THE SAME TIME. NOOOO WHATEVER WILL THE MEN DO WITHOUT WOMEN ENSLAVED IN THE KITCHENS NOOOO
I have you pegged as someone who is smart enough to know when people are joking.
[QUOTE="Fightingfan"][QUOTE="FMAB_GTO"] tough women are the best!DeihjanPeriods. What about them? I suggest you read any book of Tamora Pierce, especially from her Tortall universe. Or the Dragonriders of Pern books, there's a trilogy about a girl named Melody. Highly entertaining. Both are fantasy-settings with strong female protagonists who grow up, get their periods and deal with them, and even become knights and bards, despite their hardships and efforts to fit in as boys or to continue living after an accident that leaves the heroine unable to ever fully recover from her wounds.
Joke asides, in regards to media I think I am kinda sex.
For example. Watch Terminator3, I honestly can't take that women seriously in comparison to Arnold. How the fawk does a women 130lbs, take down Arnold...
Same goes into Military movies, women can't even join the special forces so how am I suppose to take a military movie with a women in it serious, I know I'm just "lookin' into things too much", but stuff like that just gets to me.
I remember in the walking dead rick said "Make sure the safety is off", the gun was a glock, they don't have safetys(pull switch), stupid sh*t like that will make me turn off a movie right there.
