There was no need for the deadly force, there was no threat afterwards. Not exactly self defense.

Chased him for more than a black before stabbing him. That sounds like murder, not self defence

I don't see how this can be "self-defense", sounds more like the stabber committed an offense, but his culpability should be partially mitigated because the burglar provoked him.
