The Holocaust be a conspiracy set by every nation in the world. Because, as we all know, that secret would never get out.

I thought it was illegal in most countries. Oh wait, this is Holland.UnamedThing
I thought from the thread title it was about the Netherlands too, but they're talking about some town in the USA. It would cause an uproar here in the Netherlands anyways. We still have a lot of dedication to remembering WW2 and what terrible things happened in that time.

I didn't know counter clockwise swastikas were used. I guess I learned something from this.victor_y77

They aren't by Nazis. They're used by Hindus and Buddhists, as religious symbols.

there's two sides to this. one, just because the kid's parent's are racists doesn't mean he is. the kid should not be mistreated simply because his name is Hitler but to ignore the reality of it is silly as well. chances are he will get mistreated and excluded from a lot of things because of his name. if the name was just a coincidence, i would quite frankly take the side of the parents, but in this case i believe the parents are simply trying to make a statement, and it is not very nice to scar your child for life simply because you want to make a statement.

EDIT: i don't know why the article makes such a big deal about swastikas.

1. it's an awesome symbol. i would get a tattoo of one if i could.

2. it's been used for thousands of years as a peace symbol of the eastern world. my mom has cooking pots with swastikas on the handles.

Way to not even read the article. Undoubtedly the Dutch government wouldn't allow it.

It's the connotation that comes with it now that matters. If you flipped the bird to your teacher and then continue to say that in 500 B.C.E. this meant "thank you", I doubt you would get a good response.

Oh wow. Talk about denial. :|

And poor little boy. Imagine how unpopular he must be with the other kids. He shouldn't have to suffer because of his father's stupidity...

When you read the article though as a whole, the guy seems really reasonable. He'll let his kids make their own decisions about everything..it just seems like they're really immature with names and symbols.

Wow, this is worse than Pilot Inspector, but not by much.
