Many is no-longer a Red Sox and I Say good the guy had become a cancer in club houseblasto65_basic
uh i hear he still roams boston and the marlins didnt agree to terms
unless of course the deal went through and he went to Green Bay
Dodgers are going to be sick now, they already head a good bullpen and starting rotation.HiResDes
Ya sick in the head they get to deal with his attitude and his swollen head.
thank god a red sox fan who also thinks he has a poor attitude (im a yankees fan)
thank you for realizing that hes killing the image of the sport.
i cant begin to tell you how much i hate his guts

You know you have to put up with some crap from these guys but when he pulled that crap in the last series with the Yankees that is when he punched his ticket out of Red Sox
See ya later Boston, that's the Yankees spot now. Kuruption84
Ok so you think the Yankees are going to gain just because Many is gone I dont think so. If any thing this is going to help the Red Sox.

It doesn't matter, Manny is still one of the top 20 best players in the game, with or without his attitude...Being nice, doesn't score runs or bolster lineups alone. Talent is always going to reign supreme over attitude, just look at T.O.

You are underestimating what Manny brings to the table, their isn't a hitter available on the market that can match up numbers wise...The Yankees now have a better chance than ever to overtake Boston, and Manny who has always hit well at Yankee stadium (both in the playoffs and in the regular season) is going to prove to be an even greater loss come October.

And only one spot behind the division winning Rays!

Watch Ortiz's numbers. He made him better. It was pick your poison. Pitch around Manny Big Papi kills you, pitch to Manny, and Man Ram kills you. Not anymore. And they're coming off of losing four straight. Jason Bey ain't no Manny Ramierez.truly a happy day for Boston, this coming from a Yankees fan, the guy was annoying and couldn't field if his life depended on it
but it also sucks to be the team that gets stuck with him i.e LA Dodgers
Jason Bay is a really good player...:| I dont think people should be counting the Red Sox out saying that its the Yankees now, especially with the Rays leading the division :|microsoft4life
Do you watch baseball? The rays are dropping faster than an elephant trying to base jump off the empire state building.

Yes I do actually...and baseball is a game of failure, every team goes through a funk throughout the season. It dosen't change the fact the Rays are still in first, will they be in first at the end of the season? Maybe, Maybe not. The Yanks can catch fire, the Sox can catch fire, the Rays can catch fire, all three could catch fire. But writing off the Sox for getting rid of Manny is ludacis yeah Bay isn't Manny but he brings a dangerous presence at the plate. Also counting out the Rays is as well considering they've played great ball throughout the season. Remember when the Yanks were what 7 back? Look at them now, anything can happen in baseball. So dont count the Rays out or Boston.

Craig Hansen is just terrible, and Brandon Moss is just a backup. The 7 million is just the rest of Manny's pay this year.um no it isnt Red Sox nation should be pissed.

Agreed, Billy Beane is a great GM, although he has yet to win a World Series. The only reason he hasn't won one yet is because he has much less cash to work with than Epstein does.

[QUOTE="blasto65_basic"]Many is no-longer a Red Sox and I Say good the guy had become a cancer in club houseSavedLungsA cancer? He was your best player.
Best maybe there are a few that have been putting up better numbers then him. And a cancer in the club house yes. He made a statement today that the Red Sox dont deserve a player like him. Sorry but a head that big does no good for a team. Look at Arod for the Yankees he is so concerned with himself the team will never win because it is me me me with him and it was that way with Many. This is a TEAM sport no room for big headed individuals

And people are relying too much on Ortiz. He's having an off season (as are the rest of the Sox). But wit Manny gone, the Sox are oing to need to find a new way to score their points. They can't just rely on his homers anymore.
And as a Boston native and devoted Sox fan, I'm glad to see him gone. I'm sick of his BS.

If the Yankees lose it won't be because of A-Rod, but becuase of their starting rotation finally showing their age, their lineup is good enough to withstand a few playoff slumps from A-rod.

I know, I think our talent now isnt Ortiz or Manny, rather Lowell, Drew, Padroia, and Youk
Manny is one of the worst teammates in pro sports. But either way, we are screwed without him. Jason Bay won't match his production and our bullpen is still terrible. We better get something done through waivers to get some middle relief.
In the long run we are better off. But right now, we don't have a clean up hitter.
