Reviews for Marvel's Avengers are in, and so far the average rating for the film is 97%. I find this news to be reassuring, though even if the average score so far was bad, I'd still see the film.
EDIT:
The average rating just dropped to 95%.

That's a fair statement.
gonna see it regardless. Is the hulk an actor?
sayyy-gaa
No. He's CGI. However, this time around, the CGI model is heavily based on the appearance of the actor who plays Bruce Banner - Mark Ruffalo.
I must admit, I wasn't expecting reviews to be this high. Then again, it IS the opening weekend at select places.
I'll wait for more reviews and I'll probably watch it regardless, but I just can't get over how fanservice-y it all feels. Kind of a nausea inducing feeling that I can't explain.
In any case, I still don't think it'll rate as high as Batman, but we'll see. I could be completely wrong.
Ultimately, I think I will still enjoy Batman more, but I hope both films do well. I just hope Batman does better lol.

What is so "fanservice-y" about it?
[QUOTE="konvikt_17"]seems so mhm. Did you say something he didn't like? This is the second topic I have seen him ignore you. On topic, I might watch Avengers when it comes out on DVD. I have grown bored of all the super hero movies. I still think they should have kept Edward Norton for Hulk.i get a feeling he doesnt like you, dave.:P

he(dave) called him out for his previous topics before BluRay was banned.
BluRay made some questionable topics then.
i assume thats why BluRay is ignoring him.
real petty and stupid though.
EDIT- ah what dave said.

Assuming that you're referring to Black Widow, I don't agree with you. The mere presence of a sexually appealing female character is not fanservice.

The whole movie is fanservice. It's based upon a comic book series that sought to be a fanservice-based pitch to the people that liked the original individual stories. The movies that have come before this, while overall not terrible, have used shameless plugs at the end to advertise the Avengers movie. The individual movies have been pretty good, but Iron Man 1 was the only one that I felt was truly great. I don't mind the idea of the Avengers, but I can't help but feel that it's an attempt to capitalize on the success of it's individual characters. (Which it is.)
Batman has a universe to himself. Watching his individual struggle with circumstances that he has to face basically alone has a human essence that Avengers won't touch. Which is fine because they are both different styles of movies that are targeting different fans. It would be the same as Nolan throwing Superman into the Batman universe he created because he felt it would give it more action or a new dynamic. It feels cheap.
Gotta agree with some of Starfox's comments. The movie seems overly Hollywood. O well, the reviews are great and I will probably end up seeing it. Out of all the Avengers movies my favorites were probably
1)Thor
2)Iron Man
3)The Incredible Hulk
4) Iron Man 2
5) Captain America (though I tought this movie along with IM2 were pretty bad.)
I like Captain America very much. Iron Man 2 not so much. The incredible Hulk was good, but not anything great.dave123321The first Iron Man was pretty good. The second one was okay. Could have been better. Hulk was alright, but it lacked marvel spark IMO. Captain America was epic.

I also liked Xmen First Class, but none of them will be in there. Even though Wolverine is an Avenger, too, it's all about the core original members..

Well, whether it's a fanservice or not is irrelevant in regard to its critical reception and standing as a good film. Why does this matter?

Tend to agree that I see it as more then just giving fans what they want without regard to the integrity of the movie and characters.Gotta agree with some of Starfox's comments. I don't see why people give Iron Man 2 such flack. It was no worse than the first one.
