[QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"][QUOTE="dave123321"]Shadow do you still hold the ideal that you would force your beliefs about gay marriage on others? Or have you altered/evolved that position?dave123321
My position on same sex marriage has not changed. It has nothing to do with forcing my beliefs, simply standing by the values that I hold firm. Why would internet trolls on GS change my mind?
And yes I'm aware that my preferred politician John Huntsman endorses it now. That's his business to do what he feels is important and I still endorse him, I do however disagree with his position on it.
I'm not a homophob in the slightest, I wish left-wingers would stop demonizing people because they have a different opinion than they do. I don't call pro-choice people baby killers.
I wouldn't pay the trolls no nevermind, but a lot of nontrolls weighed in. So not an issue of listening to trolls or not, but being open to other arguments. So dismissing OT as Internet trolls is not for the best. I think the main issue that people have is that you said that you were willing to vote in a way that would keep marriage between a man and a woman. That would be imposing your beliefs on others. Another option is to abstain from voting on the issue. That way you are not supporting it, but at the same time you are not letting your views dictate what marriage is. I wish the far left would stop foaming at the mouth. Also wish that you evaluate who you are as a person. He voted against it last November, so he's pushing his view on others. But to be fair, if gay marriage was an issue in my country (hasn't been since we legalised it in 2001), I would've voted for so that would also be pushing views on others.
