Be polite, say thanks and please. Smile and joke around. TRY not to be so nervous, hold your GF's hand and do not kiss her like in PG movies. Ask what you can do to help and make compliments to the mother in law's cooking and clothing.
lol Tell their parents you can see where you girl got her great ass(while looking at the mom) and then look and say to her father you got great genes mr._____!!!!!.
Don't dress like a gangbanger (no insulting t-shirts, no ripped up jeans that are 5 sizes to big and down to your knees), shower, watch your language, and don't look nervous.
I've been fortunate enough to always have good experiences meeting the parents of my girlfriends; even if I have nothing in common with them, they always seem to like me. I guess the best thing you can do is dress appropriately (a nicer pair of jeans without holes in them, a collared shirt or even a nicer t-shirt; don't overdress, though, because that can be just as bad), watch your language unless you notice that they cuss a lot themselves (even then I would still be conservative with my potty language), and be respectful towards their daughter. The thing you don't want to do is come off as being too clingy with their daughter, so try to be conservative with your contact until her parents seem comfortable with you. If you're good about following the above steps, you've done all that you can, and you just have to leave the rest to chance and hope for the best.
Be honest if her parents are like most parents you being honest and following the social guides of manliness and being a man and being honest they should respect you and love your ability to be a man ;)
Not that its going to change anything, but if you two are serious I would assume the parents will grill you with questions just about everything... where you go to school, where you work, how much you are making, what does your parents do, any brother/sisters and what they do... etc.
Just be patient and be prepared to answer all of their questions without fumbling your words. Sorta like giving a presentation, don't have to be perfect but you most definitely don't want to eff it up either
