I have to go with Metallica, they got me into rock.
I enjoyed from "Ride the Lightning" up to the "MI2 Soundtrack." I've wiped "St. Anger" out of my mind.

[QUOTE="Whight_Knight"][QUOTE="Juggernaut140"][QUOTE="Whight_Knight"]Megadeth.They withstood the test of time aswell.GodLovesDead
Risk and The World Needs a Hero
What about them?
They sucked and pretty much marked Megadeth's "downfall".
Pretty much. United Abominations was good though.

St. Anger is probably one of their best albums.
teh funnay
The problem with most people is they haven't heard any Megadeth but they've probably heard Enter Sandman or something so they pick Metallica. Reality is, as someone who's heard both extensively, Megadeth is better in pretty much every aspect except maybe vocally but I think Hetfield's voice sucks now. That being said, Master of Puppets was an amazing album and the first 4 Metallica albums kicked ass.kayn83
I love Megadeth, I actually do think they sound better than Metallica but I like Metallica more because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be listening to metal.

True, but the only reason you got into Metallica was because they're more popular. If it wasn't for their willingness to adapt their music to the times, they probably wouldn't have had such a success in the Black Album. Megadeth kept to their roots and that cost them.

I got into Metallica because my brother would play Fuel on his stereo when I was a little kid. Megadeth has definitely not kept to their roots. Risk and The World Needs a Hero were terrible albums that were designed to be radio friendly.

I really like Risk... but agree with TWNAH. I would also like to make it known that The System Has Failed and United Abominations were excellent. Also, I vote for Megadeth. I like what Metallica did on their first few albums, but their new stuff has turned them into just your average hard rock band.

The problem is that you can't argue taste in music. If you like Metallica, then you like metallica. If you think Metallica is better, then they are better. If YOU say Megadeth is better en every possible way, then gratz. I just dont agree with you. :)
[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"][QUOTE="H8sMikeMoore"][QUOTE="paulie69"]Yeah personalyl i prefer Megadeth because i just prefer mustaine's voice and the riffs are better , remeber this isn't a flamewar soo try keep it to a minimum :D

a year ago i would have said metallica.
but dave wrote all the good metallica stuff, and its hard for me to say metallica is better these days..
No he didn't :|
he wrote most of ride the lightning. Most of Kill em All. Infact, theres riffs Dave Mustaine still used in spite of them.
Not really dude, he contributed too four songs of kill em' all, and about two on Ride The Lightning. (according to the album linear notes anyway)
Anyways, I dislike Megadeths production and vocals, but the musicianship is a step above Metallica, but overall I think Metallica's first four albums >>>>>>>> Anything Medgadeth ever made not including Rust in Peace.
