Do you seriously not understand the difference between talking about a similar subject that someone else has also at some point talked about, and just copying them word for word? You clearly do since your first post in this thread said "you can't copyright common ideas". What Michelle Obama did was use a common idea, what Melania Trump('s speech writers) did was plagiarism.

I know it's picking up steam. Donald Trump winning the Republican primaries is a testament to its success. That doesn't mean it's a good thing. It's not a rational movement by any stretch. Donald Trump is essentially taking advantage of people's anger, pain, fear, and ignorance.

The Donald Trump part of it will fail though, even if the forces that catapulted him remain. They'll probably actually be more effective next time because they might attach to a messenger that's not a walking disaster. Really, here's no way any reasonable person can claim that Donald Trump's campaign is operating in a competent fashion.

But yeah, the speeches had a lot of lines in common. I doubt Melania did anything wrong herself besides read from a speech that borrowed heavily from another speech but at the same time there's still some responsibility there. What's more concerning to me is the lack of accountability after the fact.
