For me Men and Women have been always equal so this change wont affect my behaviour towards women.

Not saying feminists are actually keeping men from being chivalrous, but a large part of where the fault lies for said mentality is with the hardcore feminists.

Men choose how men act. The fact that men are trying to blame their personal flaws on women are further proof of the unequal attitudes that feminists are trying to combat.

When was being chivalrous considered a flaw...?
[QUOTE="nuclearwinter85"]i've always experienced the exact opposite. if you're nice to someone it either makes them think they can try taking advantage of you or it creeps them out, lol. tbh you'll be better off just not being nice to anyone. There is a huge difference between being nice to people and being a pushover. You have to know when to out your foot down.that's why i say they TRY taking advantage of you. 90% of people assume that just cause you're nice you are a pushover.[QUOTE="Ace6301"]Generally I'm nice to people I meet. If you're nice to them they're usually inclined to be nice to you. On the internet it really doesn't matter though. People will always be jerks here. It's more entertaining this way to be honest.MgamerBD
Celldraxnice pic....I've actually run into that twice..("I don't need a man to help me open the door")..the first time I just ignored the *****...the second time someone did that I just told her that I didn't even realize she was a girl.........
As far as doors are concerned, there have been quite a few women who have held the door open for me.
It makes me feel special, so I pass on the feeling when I can. :>
I just told her that I didn't even realize she was a girl.........Omni-Slash

I never said that? OP seems to be blaming his lack of chivalrous behavior on women. If he views that as a bad thing and thinks he SHOULD be chivalrous, then it is a flaw (in his eyes). Personally I have no opinion on whether that is a flaw or not. But I think men and women should try to have manners in their interactions with others regardless of gender. It's just polite. Why do feminist had to go in order for me to be nice towards women?lets say somehow God felt pity for us and just somehow took feminists away from us.......will you guys start being sweet, loving and chivalrous again??

...minus the ellipsis.Baconbits2004that's too bad....I just carry around post it notes with a line of elipses and stick them to people after I say things......makes it easier than saying "dot dot dot"...

Jeremy you know we have gotten along for a long time and I am not trying to attack you personally, but this is another attitude that demonstrates unequal attitudes in between men and women. I am not saying the women acted correctly in this situation, but the attitude that if a woman doesn't respond positively to male acts or advances, she's a ***** or unfeminine... it's problematic.

I think masculinity/male sexuality gets called into question far more when a dude brushes off a girl, though.

I hold open doors for people in general and only once had an issue with it. Funnily enough it was a woman. On the way into a store there was a guy a woman coming through the other side. I held onto the door, they stepped through and the guy nods a "thankyou". On the way out a woman comes through as I'm passing out the door - I held it open and she gave me a weird, sort of "dirty" look. I just said "suit yourself" and closed the door on her. I'd do the same if it was a guy.
No need for people to make anything of it. For the most part women are just as nice as men. "Feminists" are (imo) being awkward for the sake of being awkward. I don't lose sleep over it, so neither should anyone else. People should be nice for no other reason than just to be nice.
