I'm pretty sure A7X is not metalcore...Thyeora
Ignorance is bliss. A7X's first album was pure metalcore.
Anyways, I'm kind of in the between. I can't stand generic metalcore, but there are few bands (KSE, As I Lay Dying's latest album, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, The Human Abstract) that are really great.

thats funny, because im pretty sure they are.
I hope that was a typo...You do know A7X is an Avenged Sevenfold album, right? If not...Lolzzz
A7X has been a way of shortening there name since before you even knew who they were.
Oh well excuse me, I'm not big on the bands I don't like. I'm pretty sure I have known about them for a while, when did they come around, '99 or somethin?
I dont like them either, and im not sure when they started. Dont care either. I wish they never did.
Yeah, there's a lot of confusion between metalcore and metal. Most people think they listen to metal when they really just listen to metalCORE. See the big difference?Berzz
Yes. Since Metalcore is a fuse between Metal and Harcore Punk, it's actually its' own genre.

Lol. There first cd came out in 2001. Their newest album is self titled, their first cd is called Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, 2nd is Waking The Fallen, and 3rd is City of evil and A7X is a way to shorten their name. I believe you just got pwned. First album was hardcore, second was metalcore, and third and fourth are some sort of heavy metal, trying to be oldschool. And yeah, A7X is an abbreviation for their name.[QUOTE="Moroes"]Well to start things off, I am an old school guy. Metallica, AC/DC,Kiss, you know those types of bands. I will listen to virtually anything, yes even country music but I am mainly interested in Alternative Rock and Metal. So this new genre pops up, Metalcore. Some Metalcore bands include Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage,Trivium, and numerous of other bands. When I first heard of them I really didn't like it at all. For me it was a lame attempt trying to put metal back on the map, but in the recent days I went against my previous believes. I heard this song called Tears Don't Fall by Bullet For My Valentine, another of the bands that I hated. I don't know why, but I really liked the song. So feel free to share you favorite metal bands, not only metal core and also recommend me some other artists I might be interested in.

its not an attempt to put metal on the map. Metalcore has existed for a real long time. Back before the word "thrash" was popular, metallica was considered metalcore.
Metalcore as we know it today is pretty old, and started when a band just wanted to mix hardcore and metal. somehow, someway it turned into the trendy, might as well be emo thing it is today.
Where the heck did you hear that? Metallica was considered a combination of hardcore punk and classic metal, but they were never actually called metalcore. Besides, 80s hardcore and modern hardcore are worlds apart. 80s hardcore is very politically oriented, as punk should be.
Why is that? Listened and don't like it? Or because your friends say it sucks?X360PS3AMD05More like listened to it and wanted to rip my eyes out

I enjoy some metalcore, but definitely I'm growing tired of it in general. August Burns Red is by far the best.
As I Lay Dying is ok, and old Parkway Drive is great.

Try out As I Lay Dying (you already might know it), August Burns Red, As Blood Runs Black, Bring Me The Horizon, War Of Ages, Darkes Hour (newest album fits more in melodic death metal), Destroy The Runner, Caliban, Despised Icon.
Many of those were deathcore, but i personally dont like these bands that you listed. They usually dont make breakdows and for me its one of the most important things in metalcore.

A7X also makes heavy metal and hard rock.
HATE HATE HATE IT!!!
I also hate how people confuse it with Metal. Like "check out this metal band, see, it's just screaming"
Yeah, because it's metalcore, not Metal.

Its a mix of hardcore punk and metalcore. Should we say metalcore punk then? I think metal fits better.

metalcore was the original term for thrash. and you know what the original term for death metal was? THRASH. names change buddy.
Metal + Hardcore punk = metalcore. and back when metal mixed with REAL hardcore (not that throwdown garbage) it was called METALCORE. then over time it developed its own name under thrash.
