You gotta like one of these:

Folk Metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtdvoKpLevc

Power Metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGxVsCom92s

Avant Garde: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_qRLlnsjhU

Whatever this is considered (black?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4ih3JVrRPE

Death Metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnoMb8BEHbA

More Folk Metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrMclZovh_o

RobboElRobbo

Eluveitie - Tegernako started off great, but unfortunately that is the type of metal i do not like. the super loud screaming that i can't understand. i loved the guitar though. i like more of the old school, softer metal where i can understand the lyrics.

A Day to Remember is the friendliest band for those who are not acustomed to hardcore/metalcore/metal, so I'd suggest them.
They are great.

Because OT hates nu metal, but Disturbed is probably the only good nu metal band in existence.

Oh lets see:

Metallica

Iron Maiden

Megadeth

Nevermore

All That Remains

Avenged Sevenfold

Slipknot

Killswitch Engaged

System of a Down

Drowning Pool (Just the Sinner album)

And for something different:

Dillinger Escape Plan

LostProphetFLCL

I would also recommend Mudvayne(first 3 albums), Deftones, Atreyu(first 3 albums), Underoath(first 3 albums), and Disturbed.

Seriously check out bands from my list then. There are too many to link but they're more in the range of what you're looking for methinks.

Hmm, well most of their songs are in gaulish, an extinct language so I don't think the focus of the song would be on song meaning anyway. Most of their songs aren't heavily focused on female vocals however there is a couple more:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITFXX_Zof3w< that one's a little weak in my opinion but you might like it

You're going to love my list then, TC:

After Forever (Avoid their earlier stuff, though, there's lots of growling there)

Beyon-d-Lusion

Lacuna Coil

Leaves' Eyes

Nightwish

Sirenia

Therion (This band always uses a full choir, either male or female, for vocals, but I think it qualifies :P)

UnSun

Within Temptation

Enjoy! :D

Savatage - Everything. If you want the old, very heavy stuff then go with Sirens and The Dungeons Are Calling. Hall of the Mountain King is a very good album, same with Gutter Ballet and Streets although those 2 aren't as "heavy" as the others, but still powerful stuff)

Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God (Album and track name) is their best work imo. Everything on it is awesome. Embrace of the Endless Ocean is the best song on it (imo again)

Chris Caffery - Again, every album. Best work by far is Faces though.

Joe Stump - all instrumental shred. Good stuff though.

Megadeth - Rust In Peace is a must for any metalhead. Many, many good albums

Nightwish - Dark Passion Play album is my favorite.

Pantera - Cowboys from Hell

Marty Friedman - Loudspeaker, Dragon's Kiss

Five Finger Death Punch - Dunno their albums, just looked them up on Youtube. The Way of the Fist sounds just like it was made for a UFC fight

That's all I got for ya for now.

Because OT hates nu metal, but Disturbed is probably the only good nu metal band in existence.

System Of A Down is FAR better, in my opinion. I remain a SOAD fan to this day.

Amen to that. I still keep hope alive that they come back one day... But in the mean time....

I, cry, when angels deserve to DIEEEEE!!!!

The only reason I don't listen to SOAD is because of their political views that are clearly stated in their songs, which I definitely don't agree with.

Their awesomest songs aren't political at all. Chop Suey, Toxicity, Aerials, ATWA. Pretty much the whole "Toxicity" album, aside from Prison Song. And of course there's SUGAAAAAHHH!!!

Well how about you list what bands you're into? I have quite the collection so I may be able to help you out ;) [QUOTE="ForsakenWicked"][QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"]

Fav song atm is this:

Give it a go.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQvMXKWvs8Q

No one will probly listen to it but w/e

How dare you minimize Sentenced's legacy? :P I love Sentenced and have listened to all of their songs. My favorite one is Aika multaa muistot , it just has so many emotions in it and I can relate to it.

Sentenced haven't been good since they ditched death metal.

Just a matter of tastes. I actually like the direction they took in their final albums, but hey, that's just my opinion.
