Toys in the Attic, Rocks, Permanent Vacation, and Pump are all great albums. Metallica I like, but Aerosmith is one of my top handful of bands.

Bit of an odd poll......choosing between a Heavy Metal band and a rock and roll band. But anyway I choose Metadeth ;)

You can't even compare the two-each is excellent in its own way. However, I will say that I have significantly less respect for Metallica because of James Hetfield's choice to kick out Dave Mustaine for using drugs when Hetfield himself was a heavy user, and I'll also admit that I'll take Aerosmith's "weak period" stuff over Metallica's.

Frontman of Aerosmith (Liv Tyler's dad) was once asked (in the 2000s) what band he regarded as a rival. He named Rage Against the Machine, but then tried to retract it in a friendly way ("...we don't really see other bands as rivals."). Anyway, he compares the outfit to metal bands, so itseems a fair enough poll.

Out of them, Metallica.MegaDave rule all though...
