Metallica because I don't like metal but they have made me like them. Plus Kirk Hammet is an incredible guitar player, best still active guitarist in my opinion, but thats just me.

They're all quite bad, but I can stand certain aspects of Slayer (and hey, I can even appreciate earlier Slayer albums), and Anthrax is at the bottom because I have an irrational hatred of Scott Ian.

Well, the reason they have the success is because so many people like them, so it all makes sense in the end. There is a reason why Metallica are always highly rated, they deserve it, despite recent years. Still, those first 4 albums were the best!

wow how unexpected that metallica would be winning. Im sorry guys but they suck now a days. Personally I like Antrax or Megadeath more but to each his own

Definitely not, like I said above, I prefer the other 3 bands over Slayer. Of course, it's all opinions, but I was really just talking about Metallica and their success :)

Oh ok. If you havent heard anything off Kill Em All or Ride The Lightning, you should really check those 2 records out. But I respect your opinion.
For me it's Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax. I'd like Megadeth almost as much as Metallica, but I don't like Dave's voice at all. Megadeth and Slayer are about equal for me, and I just don't like Anthrax...

I have heard all the big 4 albums (and the black album) but I only liked 2 songs, nothing else matters and orion
Even though its a 3 way tie between Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer, I'm gonna have to go for Metallica simply because of one reason *points to sig and avatar*

Metallica were good once upon a time. Slayer has kept good throughout the years. I say Slayer. I never liked Anthrax too much, and while Megadeth is good, it's not Slayer good.
Metallica, but I prefer Sodom as my main thrash band.tzar3
