50/50? I expected Metallica to dominate this poll.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Megadeth, I don't like any Metallica besides Kill 'Em All, even Justice, Lightning and Puppets I find extremely average.
As long as you ignore Lulu (which sucked really bad), Metallica has not had a bad album. So Metallica > Megadeth.the_phenom_
You like Load, Reload and St Anger?
As long as you ignore Lulu (which sucked really bad), Metallica has not had a bad album. So Metallica > Megadeth.the_phenom_Both Loads are horrid and St. Anger may be the most disappointing album in modern music history. I don't think there's ever been an album who's disappointment is so legendary. As for DM, it's just more generic "metal" crap.
I'm undecided... Each band has its pros and cons that equal each other out. While Metallica's lyrics are one-dimensional, Megadeth have more interesting concepts. On the other hand, Metallica has better riffs. It all depends what I prefer more: good riffs or lyrics

One of my favourite Metallica songs & performances. Justice is really underrated:(
Also, it's 2:20am on a Sunday morning and I'm posting on GS - my life is awesome:lol:

And Pirate700, I'm surprised you like either Metallica or Megadeth...

I thought you were a huge country fan? I'd assume thrash metal would be too harsh on the ears of a country fan.
Though I've never met a country fan, so I guess I could be talking complete nonsense:P
Have you listened to this? The guys from Pantera, except for the vocalist was in that band before Dimebag's death. On topic, I would probably say Metallica, although Megadeth is good, too.[QUOTE="Postmortem123"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]Why wouldn't I?

Some nice riffs.
Megadeth, I find they tackle real issues in the world and see the bigger picture of things in many of their songs, unlike other bands who just sing about dumb crap like their girl friend break ups or banging hookers or something, and as far as metal bands go they don't have that annoying growling satanic crap that so many metal bands try to pass off as "music".

Surprised this hasn't devoled into a flame war. Anywho, im biased, but my im gonna go Megadeth (favorite band of all time.) I feel like Megadeth has made the higher quality albums and have more memorable riffs and what not (Fvkcin Peace sells bass intro still rocks). As well as remaing heavier longer, and still retaining their sound on Countdown (what i call their equivalent to BA). Not to discredit Metallica, i like them as well. I feel Mustaine succeded in his mission, they play heavier, faster, and better. Again, I am biased as Megadeth is my favorite band.

And death metal has stupid lyircs that don't mean anything (not that it matters since it's incoherant like I said), just dumb sh!t about drinking blood and raping demons or some other crap that dumb goth losers listen to because they are trying to be "rebellious" or some crap. Eventually these people grow up, or they become seriel killers or something. I don't know.

Eh....Sudden Death has some pretty technical guitar in it, but a bit of a stretch for me to consider it a favourite.
I like Megadeth better, but I'd probably have to pick Nightmare out of the two :P

Megadeth, but not by much. I'm happy I got to see both live (Metallica did the better show) but Rust In Peace still blows me away.

Haha, it's not "youth in asia" it's youthanasia, a play on the word "euthanasia".
