[QUOTE="Fuhgeddabouditt"][QUOTE="Good-Apollo"]What's the military doing?mrbojangles25

they wont do anything because it seems they will be outgunned.

bullcrap, its called a bribe.

you really think the military lacks the logistics to go in and storm the mansion of every drug lord and crime boss in Mexico? Hardly...

they should do it then.

why would they? The leaders are problably making millions of dollars a year, lower officers problably get a few grand, and everyone else gets threatened or killed.

If Mexico is as bad as you say (I imagine it's much worse, however) you should really move.

brute is the only solution in such situation and hundreds to thousands may die, so people dont like this solution, but I prefer it in such dead end situations.

[QUOTE="MrLions"]It's sad to see mexico become like this. My mother is scared to taking me since i stick out so much there and I miss visiting. I heard some of my cousins already have been kidnapped and probably have died by now. What a complete shame and they ask why Mexicans cross the border. >_>CosmicZombie

Sorry to hear that man, i lost a friend that way as well.

Oh, my god. Even the Mafia frowns upon kidnapping in the states. (Although for selfish reasons-- it attracts very unwanted attention.)

That's a horrible way to lose someone. I'm sorry, guys. :(

People seem to be hugely ignorant and presumptious.. People are up and arms about the whole oil spill in the gulf, claiming they should boycott oil and what not.. That won't even last.. But some how people in these threads think that they are cowards because they are not willing to risk their lives, family and livlihood when we can't even get a real boycott to committ due to some economic discomfort that we will suffer.

Revolutions are always painful things.. And furthermore revolutions neve rget a majority support.. They usually are 33% for it, 33% agianst it and 33% on the fence.. The point being is often times its done by the noble and in the end the poor man suffers for it the most.. I mean look at the American reovolution.. Do people honeslty think that the average person within the colonies saw much of a difference afterwards or really had a democracy? Heck no, it was done by upper class people.. Hell the Senate didn't even have popular vote til the 1910.

Oil spills and gang issues so severe that they are literally shutting down cities are 2 different things. If people want the gangs to stop, they must stand up and fight, you can't just negotiate with these criminals.

thats what happens when you live in a developing country. You are also part of the problem... why dont YOU do something about it? Become a cop and rise up the ranks to chief and help bring down crime. Become a strong politician and make a difference. Join the Military and fight the cartels. Become an outspoken leader in your community. You are doing nothing, expecting others to do what you are unwilling to do is cowardice on your part just as much as it is on theirs.

Ever think about the fact that some people do not want to be shot at and/or killed? It's so easy to judge people from behind a computer when you yourself know absolutely nothing.

The fact of the matter is your judging people when yoru sitting on your butt in a well air conditioned room, safely and most likely have a good job.. The arrogance is astounding, how bout you put your money where your mouth is first before you judge innocent bystanders.. People who would risk their lives and everythign to go against the gangs.. With your logic we can basically justify every heinous thing in history happening to a people because they were complacent and cowards.. Things are never that simple, EVER.

I never said it's an easy thing to do, thousands of people will perish in this revolution if they decide to take that path. What you are proposing is that they just sit back and let the gangs take over, randomly hurting and killing people. If they want the gangs to stop, they can only fight. Also, don't make assumptions about me when you don't even know my name, let alone my actual history.

I know what you mean, I live in Monterrey too. I absolutely hate that I can't go anywhere without being worried something might happen.Nevlim

"

Stay safe

According to América Económica magazine, Monterrey has ranked as the safest city in Latin America along with Santiago de Chile. Violent crime against tourists is not common. It is perfectly safe to walk outside even in the night. Petty crime, such as pickpocketing is also rare. Taxis are generally trustworthy in Monterrey and as long as you are aware that meters should always be used, cheating rarely occurs. However, as in any metropolitan area in the world, it still has some crime issues, mainly related to drug traffic. Also avoid poorer areas that you may spot easily in some hills and the surroundings. Just keep in mind to maintain some minor precautions as you would do in any major city."

This war of cartels has been going on for a while now. But it was supposed to over, the Government even allied with the "good" cartel, the one that just does its business and dont hurt innocents, the other one just do whaetever they can to get money. But yeah there were some shooting tonight near a friend's house and even granades. At least there were some time of peace and I hope it doesn't get as ugly as it got before where nobody was outside at night.

This is what I don't get.

America spends millions (billions?) on illegal immigration issues, drug trafficking, human trafficiking, trying to get drugs and illegal weapoins off the streets... Then they say "Oh, go to the Middle East and blow *** up there," but then they turn around and all they do is complain about Mexicans. Maybe the American military should head down into Mexico and actually do some useful work. Make Mexico safe. Create jobs. Make people want to stay in Mexico. Destory the drug cartels. There goes the immigration problem, there goes the drug and weapons problems, and then you have another developed country right next door.
