I ask because, humans are the only mammals that still drink milk, of any kind, well after infancy.

my dog drinks milk every time i give him some. i drink it because it taste great and is good for youOh and cats drink a lot of milk right? Do these animals consciously seek out milk or do they get it when offered?Humans actively searchfor milk. An animal would live it's adult life without searching for milk and not have a craving for it unless it was exposed to it.
Because it tastes good. And I'm not drinking mother's milk, so its not providing my body with any of the fats or acids that mother's milk gives infants.

The wiki page on lactose intolerance is quite interesting, it seems europeans have kept the ability to digest milk into adulthood more so

I thought humans got milk because it is offered. If milk weren't offered, we would have other things to drink like water and juice. Just like animals will drink milk if it is a liquid that's available that wont kill them, humans do the same thing. Besides, milk goes great with Oreos
A very convincing doctor once told me i should completely cut dairy out of my life, and not because of any special condition but because humans in general just shouldn't consume it. It has very little benefit and an awful lot of negatives, so he said. So apart from the occasional ice cream i follow his advice and leave it alone. :)

Um...that stuff pretty much goes away during the process of getting it to your shelves. Unless you drink organic which then yes you will get all that stuff.
i drink milk because its an excellant source of calcium, it tastes good and drinking water with a meal would just feel weird...its the only other liquid i drink besides water :P
