Mods: Close This, Please - It's Run Its Course

Okay, it's 44 degrees at the moment, which I consider to be cold. My roommate likes having the windows open, which causes the entire room to become cold. Would I be overstepping my boundaries if I told him to shut it? Is it even cold enough for me to make this an issue? Keep in mind that he does this everyday and that we're in the North Country, near Canada. I always shut it when he leaves, but he just opens it when he returns. I want to say something, but technically, it is HIS windows (it's on his side of the room). I keep mine shut.

44 degrees is pretty damn cold. You should have a talk with him.

It seems as if most of you agree with me. I thought that maybe I was making a big deal out of nothing.

Super glue the window closed when he's gone. He'll never get that thing open again.

But seriously, just tell him it's too cold. :P

pretend to have a cold and maybe he'll realize the cold air is bad for you, or at least insinuate that his leaving the window open gave you a cold

I believe that people should be open and honest about their feelings. Don't tell him that he has to keep the window closed or anything. Just politely express to him how much it's bugging you. If he's mature, he'll respect that you shared your thoughts with him and then the ball will be in his court about what to do. If he decides to continue keeping it open, you might wanna consider purchasing a space heater or something.
