Beethoven was a genius, to say the least. "Moonlight Sonata" is an absolute masterpiece.

I love classical music.

I like it..it's subtle and moving at the same time. I'm more of a Russian Romantic guy myself though. Tchaikovsky, Borodin, etc.

Now it's time to turn your world upside down...

Waldstein Part 1
Waldstein Part 2
Waldstein Part 3

Appassionata Part 1
Appassionata Part 2
Appassionata Part 3

The Moonlight Sonata is decent but these are Beethoven's true masterworks.

I don't particularly like classical music... give it a dance beat and I'm there.

Fur Elise (trance mix) rocks.

Well, classical composers like them just go without saying...and anyone who says otherwise surely has no idea what they're talking about.

Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, etc. etc.

I agree, its a great piece of music, however my favorit is the 3rd movement, I dont think you will like it instantly, but listen to it a few days on a row, it will move you somehow (I hope).

Well if you liked the Moonlight sonata I think it's safe to say you do like cIassical music, maybe you just hadn't listened properly? Anyway, did you listen to the whole thing or just the exceptionally cliched first movement? I would recommend you listen to any of his symphonies, especially the 3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th, some of the greatest music ever created. :D

That piece is a good one to play to work on expression. And is also pretty hard in the last movement.

Beethoven and Mozart have always been my most favorite composers (but then, I mostly only listen to Classical music anyway). I assume you only heard the first movement, which is the most common movement of the Moonlight Sonata. But this is another favorite movement of the Moonlight Sonata for me:

Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement

Edit: Yes, Beethoven was the deaf composer, Mozart was the prodigy...

Unless you were being sarcastic or being funny and I haven't noticed your humor in all this time, my bad. But it seems like you always take other peoples post in a fashion where you just want to argue on purpose. For what? Who knows. Perhaps you're miserable, I just noticed.

Carry on.

Well then the problem is yours. I didn't want to argue...I was curious why it was necessary for ONLY one user to enter a particular thread...though frankly with the comments you make in threads it's seems you do want to cause controversary...and arguing ironically.

Someone used it for a game trailer, and it flowed amazingly. Definetly a phenomenal song. But, Pacabel's Canon tops my list for songs from that era.

I agree. One of the few classical songs I actually want to learn to play.
