You could question it, or you could look up the definition of the word "song." Whatever suits you.[QUOTE="xhellcatx"]Yep its a good song. Funky_Llama

I love that song.LonelynightStrange, I don't remember it having a vocal part. I assume your bored so you have nothing better to do then troll eh? Well for your information, i view anything made out of a compilation of musical instruments a song. It doesnt need vocals to be called a song.
[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]Strange, I don't remember it having a vocal part.kingdre
What else should I call it then? Composition. Happy now?
No, you were fine. Its a song, or sonata to be specific because its played.
Nowhere in your post did you call it a Aria.
[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"][QUOTE="xhellcatx"]It doesnt need vocals to be called a song. xhellcatxWrong. Notice the rest of my post. I said I VIEW. I dont care if someone else calls it a song or not. I do. And I have no care on your opinion on that. Have fun trolling. So basically anyone can change the definition of a word? How does the english language work if that is the case?

 whatever floats your boat buddy. Anyhow I like the SONG. What you gonna do about me calling it a song huh? What? Think im stupid cause im calling it a song? Oh good lord someone i dont know on the internetz thinks im Stupid for calling a wonderful peice of music a SONG. God im crushed. Does it offend you that I call it a song? Does it offend anyone? I surely hope not cause that would be a stupid thing to be offended over. Anyhow, argument is done. I will still call it a song. And it is a beautiful song at that. Irony of ironies. This thread is looking up.
Anyway Beethoven is one of my favorite composers. Moolight Sonata is incredible. Almost as good as his 5th and 9th symphonies....my personal favorites.
 whatever floats your boat buddy. Anyhow I like the SONG. What you gonna do about me calling it a song huh?xhellcatxWell nothing, obviously. What did you expect, a murder attempt?
Think im stupid cause im calling it a song?xhellcatxNope. Easy mistake to make, made by plenty of intelligent people.

Moonlight Sonata is a definite. I'm a huge fan of Chopin's Raindrop Prelude myself.
I'm suprised no one's mentioned Holst's planets pieces yet, everyone knows at least Mars - Bringer of War
Then of course there's Verdi's Anvil Chorus which everyone probably knows as well.
Or Carl Orff's O fortuna which has been used in almost every commercial ever
and yes I know I've jumped to opera at the end

The Moonlight Sonata is decent but these are Beethoven's true masterworks.raider1648
wow i had heard so many of these but i never knew their name or composer or anything!
I will check these later. I think Moonlight Sonata is good also.and to think he was deafLed_poison
He wasn't deaf when he wrote this. He was only just becoming aware of the severity of his hearing condition - but that's really beside the point. Any musician with decades of experience can hear a score in his head as easily as you can read this post. They may not be able to write like Beethoven, but they could certainly imagine and write music, deaf or not.
This certainly isn't Beethoven's finest work. Many of the pieces he wrote when he was truly deaf (including the late piano sonatas) are more profound, creative compositions. But when you're talking about masterpieces... let's just say that Beethoven's clearly substandard works (like the incredibly over-played Fur Elise) are still not bad compositions. And the Moonlight sonata is not a substandard work. It's creative and well-constructed.
I don't particularly like classical music... give it a dance beat and I'm there.
Fur Elise (trance mix) rocks.

Meh... adding dance beats to cIassical music misses the point of the genre. Leave that for genres that are specifically designed for clubs. Bear in mind that a lot of cIassical music IS dance music already... and I suspect the composers of that music knew what they were doing when they chose not to score it with a lot of obtrusive percussion. It's not like percussion instruments didn't exist when the music was written.
[QUOTE="halo3-player"]Not as good as crank that pianist
But really... can anything match the profundity of Crank That? I mean, there's Soulja Boy, and then there's everybody else.
So true. You might as well change your avatar from Brahms to Soulja Boy right now. >_>On another note, recommend me some Brahms. I liked his Piano Concerto in D minor and I demand MOAR! :P

Funky_Llama
Why not try his other piano concerto, which is even better? When it comes to Brahms, there's very little in his output that I wouldn't recommend, and certainly everything with an opus number is worth listening to. Many times. Like for your whole life. :P
I'm personally a very big fan of chamber music (both for playing and listening), and so I would strongly recommend anything by Brahms that fits in that genre. His chamber music isn't always as idiomatic as other composers, but the compositional quality and ingenuity is absolutely phenomenal. So the duo sonatas, trios, quartets, quintets, and sextets - all pure gold. Still can't believe I got Brahms's complete chamber music for about $40 CDN.

WUT? It would be nice if it were, though. I could pick up a Steinway concert grand for $160.

Sometimes, addind dance beats completely kills the piece for me. Like this version of Adagio for Strings(Don't know this is considered ****cal though)
