What current TV trends are annoying OT the most? Two come to mind for me
The idea that any celebrity (or about any honestly) can have a reality TV Show, and that any job can have one (I can understand Cops, Pawn Stars, and ones that can be interesting. But Doggy grooming, truckers, Loggers, really?)
And cable networks taking HBO TV shows like The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Entourage, and cutting out like 4-8 minutes (along with the langauge and violence) per episode. I don't know how to make HBO shows on cable work, maybe they just aren't meant to be.

I haven't noticed a cut in language and violence. I watch Game of Thrones, True Blood, etc and the language and violence are still there.
As to annoying, rage inducing things, I hate that they are shrinking down the season sizes, that all they seem to want to show are one of the big 6 (Cop/crime dramas, law shows, doctor shows, singing shows, talent shows, and cooking/other reality shows) when most all are junk and how people can keep watching them season after season is beyond me, and that they seem to cancel any show that is not "believable" by the average person so they cancel a show with a great plot/acting/concept. The last one just gets under my skin. There have been plenty of shows that were cancelled before their time simply because people thought them too unbelievable, yet thought that all doctors have steamy romances and cops are all hardcore, gritty heroes that have "so shocking we can't even show it on the preview" things happen to them every episode. So stupid, I mean really? Keep on watching people sing and dance and court bachelorettes and professions that make six figures because you don't. Keep on keepin on.
