Schism isn't open to interpretation:|. It's about a guy who's broken up with his gf and how their relationship began and broke down. It's basically an entire song dedicated to building and rebuilding relationships.

IMO it's about a totally different thing, although I do see exactly where that interpretation comes from. My interpretation is that it's about christianity and islam, and how they basicly are the same religions with only small differences. A mantra is a short phrase an islam monk repeats for himself, which would indicate that mantra/schism have something to do with religion. The sad part is how these different subgenres of the same religion fight wars between each others where probably millions have died, even if they both were the same in the beginning.
