Most disturbing film you have ever seen?

What is the most disturbing film you have ever seen? I'm not exactly looking for fake snuff films, or films that are made for pure shock value, but feel free to post those as well if you wish. As for myself, I just watched a movie called "A Serbian Film". Without a doubt the most depressing and disturbing film I have ever sat through (though I don't exactly go hunting for themeither). Look up the trailer at your own risk (though it really doesn't do the film justice). It got pretty mixed reviews due to people interpreting it as nothing but an exploitation film, but it was actually very well acted and cringingly well done, which I think is part of the reason its so disturbing when compared to films that are even more extreme but only for the sake of being so. I don't know know if I'd recommend watching it, as its not enjoyable so much as it is powerful and I'm sure as hell not going to watch it ever again, but I just can't get over it. I feel like I need to take a shower. Anyway, GS, what is the most disturbing or twistedly moving film you have ever seen?

I've recently watched 'Antichrist' by Lars Von Trier and this movie excatly fits the bill.

Never in my life have I been more moved and compelled by a movie. It brought me to my knees with its sheer beauty, both cinematographical and metaphorical.

Easily in my Top 5 movies ever.

Salo, or 120 Days of Sodom. IMO.

When i was 6 years old i was stumbled upon IT on a spanish network. I had no idea what they were saying but it still was a horrible childhood memory. Even as i think about it right now, i get watery eyes...

Eh.. Depends what you mean by disturbing. I stopped watching black christmas or whatever that was, after somebody got their face cut open by a skate. I've never even bothered to watch any of the SAW movies, because I saw the cube series and those are tame compared to it. I can't stand watching people get mutilated, blood and body parts coming off make me want to puke. The ring bugged me, I watched 1 and 2, and I don't remember the exact line, but the "you shouldn't have let her out" thing scared the bejeezus out of me.XilePrincess

In terms of horrific surrealism, it makes films like Apocalypse Now and Eraser Head seem like childrens' films. You won't walk away from seeing this unshaken.

cannibal holocaust was laughably bad, nothing disturbing about it at all imo.

antichrist was pretty rough and so was salo. that serbian film that the TC was talking about looks ridiculously over the top. i mean, raping a new born child, really??? cmon...

that's EXACTLY what it was.

Oh, This movie called the Grey zone. It was about the Third Reich and how the Nazi's killed millions of jews and showed it all. Horrible horrible stuff.
