The movie "Audition", i heard was one of the most disturbing movie ever made. Is there a movie more disturbing than this? The only one I think can come close is "Blind Beast".

Faces of death is pretty badWitchsightThats not really a movie though. I don't know, i've never seen anything thats personally disturbed me nothing Hollywood could ever make will ever come close. They should really just rename the Horror franchise to Gore since thats all it is now because that gets the same results as scaring people. The horror genre died a long time ago.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jacob's Ladder. Another pretty disturbing movie, for me anyway, is The Machinist. House of 1,000 corpses is pretty tame in my book, but an all right movie.

About "Faces of Death" they're remaking it for some reason. It's supposed to have some sort of plot to it, either that or it's just going to be more staged deaths like the others in the series.
Audition and Jacob's Ladder are up there for me.
But I'd say Eraserhead and Cannibal Holocaust.
Eraserhead just for the strangeness and psychology of it all, much like A Clockwork Orange, but much more extreme in its obscurity.
Cannibal Holocaust just can't be beat in terms of vulgarity and overall gross out factor, I dare anyone to show me something worse.
The Machinist, really? Never clocked that as to be a film that would be disturbing....I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jacob's Ladder. Another pretty disturbing, for me anyway, is The Machinist. House of 1,000 corpses is pretty tame in my book, but an all right movie.

Hey, if anyone remember, I think there was a movie that was so disturbing that the director was actually murderd because of it.
I think he was Italian, or some other country in Europe... and the movie had to do with children I think. Old movie...

YES!Finally sumone else who has seen the movie & SPEAKS of it.Also HIGH TENSION is disturbing aswell.the way she kills people is just sickening.
[QUOTE="nuttybar"]Gummo and Threads are up there. Rhazakna
Gummo wasn't disturbing, it was stupid and pointless.
It's a flawed film certainly, and could have done with a good 30 minutes cut out of it. But there are some scenes in it which stick in your mind because of their nature. The main example being the bathtub scene...Â

the opening scene of un chien andalou makes me look away every time i watch it. it was also made in 1929. i can also think of a few art films that most people would find disturbing. vito acconci has done some interesting things and another piece that i've seen (by an artist whose name i do not remember,) shows a woman cutting dead skin off the edges of her fingernails and then dipping her hands into a bowl of milk.
however, perhaps the most disturbing thing i have seen recorded on film, was a documentary about the holocaust made immediately after wwii. it was meant to show all german citizens the full extent of the atrocities that hitler had committed. it has much footage of thousands of human beings being buried in mas graves and of starved, tortured holocaust survivors as they were found by allied soldiers.

luis bunuel, its director and co-writer, and salvador dali, it's other co-write, were both card-carrying members of the surrealist movement at the time. but dadaism is very similar to and has influenced surrealism.
