60 minutes sounds extremely repetitive to me....Light of day, day of darkness by green carnation. Over 60 minutes of pure awesome.

[QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"][QUOTE="thepwninator"] I actually prefer Varyags of Miklagaard from that album, TBH.thepwninatorSolid song, but its probably my third least favorite song on it:P My personal least favorite is the song right after it. I don't know why. It says something for the solidity of an album when one person's third least favorite is another's very favorite :P
It means you need to fight to the death, armed with nothing but crowbars with snakes wrapped around them.
Also, for epic music I'm going with the whole DoWII soundtrack.

A song over 60 minutes...?
I dislike songs that are longer than 5 minutes.
N.W.A - chin check
i just heard this song a couple days ago and its just awesome. i guess my favorite song from todays music..
For me, it's And Then There Was Silence by Blind Guardian hands down. I'll also give a shout out to runners up Miklagard Overture by Turisas and Mana by Equilibrium.
Light of Day, Day of Darkness, as with some other very long songs that maintain their awesomeness throughout (Flood anyone?), really don't meet the criteria for "epic" as I think of it. "Epic" to me is music that conjures to mind huge battles and heroic quests and legends and victory and all that nonsense without sounding hoaky. Or in the words of Luca Turilli, "WARRIORS BATTLES SWORDS OF STEEL AND MAGIC TRAGIC DESTINIES!!!!!"
[QUOTE="thepwninator"][QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"] Solid song, but its probably my third least favorite song on it:P Darth-CaedusMy personal least favorite is the song right after it. I don't know why. I would say Twilight of the Thunder God > Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags > Free Will Sacrifice > Varyargs of Milklagaard.
The rest of the songs are somewhere below those four.

The rest of the songs are somewhere below those four.
Thats my opinion on it:Pi cant find a link for you guys, but singing deep mountain by gordian knot is pretty epic despite being about an internal struggle. theres no lyrics, but theres one little bit on the back of the album:
the purest heartbeat
drowned in oceans of nearness
uncoiled
singing deep mountain
Only if you only listen to the garbage on the radio...No song in this decade could ever be considered EPIC. They all fail.

The Grudge-Tool. Or anything off Lateralus.. or 10000 Days.sirgaratisI've been listening to both of those albums as of late. Love them both.
As for the question, I would say one of these;
It'd have to be something by Godspeed.
Any of the tracks on Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennas to Heaven would do.

I personally stopped listening to new music after Kurt Cobain killed himself and U2 decided to release Discocrap!!!!! After those episodes music turned crap.
There are my favorites from this decade:
Washington Is Next by Megadeth
My Curse by Killswitch Engage (my favorite riff this decade)
Twilight Of The Thunder God by Amon Amarth
Trigger by In Flames
Dracula by Iced Earth
Halo by Machine Head
(spot reserved for awesome song off of the upcoming Megadeth album)
and finally, everything that Dream Evil has done. That band is the definition of epic.
