Bought, not rented/leased? - Car - University degree - Laptop My video game collection is probably worth as much or more than what I paid for my university degree. Not to mention it's inherent value to my life is probably higher than the degree as well.

A dell is a cheap, creaky plastic machine built with the lowest cost materials its manufacturer could possibly source. A Macbook is made out of brushed aluminium and glass with back-lit keys. Why buy a nice anything when there's always a cheaper option out of cheaper materials on offer? It's name brand more than anything that makes them so expensive. As with everything. But people still buy nice clothes, cars etc etc. Depends what you care about enough to spend some extra money.

That would be a set of wheels/tires for my car. The wheels were OEM RX8 R3 forged wheels going for $1200 each, plus tires were $1300 for the set. I do love my car but that has got to be the most expensive and unnecessary purchase I have ever made all at once in the past year. I don't know what I was thinking or if at all..
