Before I begin, I would just like to clarify what I mean by the term "overrated". When I say "overrated", I mean that the amount of people who enjoy an album would greatly exceed the amount who do not. So an album by someone like Justin Bieber would not be "overrated" in the sense that many people do not like his music. The album I think is the most overrated would have to be "The Moon and Antarctica" by Modest Mouse. I know many people love it, but I could never get into it. I've listened to it several times, but I never have. The opening is kind of catchy, but beyond that, I feel the album gets pretty boring, and drags on for way too long.

Thriller. It just seems like a collection of good pop songs to me. Also, The Girl is Mine is unbearably corny.

Ray of Light,1999, Purple Rain, Sign of the Times>Thriller as far as pop albums are concerned due to having alot more atmosphere and being more adventurous.

Watch the Throne. It had some good hooks and choruses (thank you Mr. Ocean), and a couple good verses (Kanye's 2nd one on Murder to Excellence), but the rest of the rapping was pretty bad in my opinion. Kanye's production was excellent on a good amount of the songs, but the rapping was just...terrible on a lot of the songs.

You shut your mouth. I would say MBDTF by Kanye West. I do like the album quite a bit and it has great production values, but I don't think Kanye West is that great at rapping.

Lol that's funny. Abbey Road is overrated if you are gonna go there but the White Album is barely talked about compared to that.

The White Album by the Beatles.

Blueresident87

It has Sexy Sadie on it as well and some of their most interesting work in general, so I'd have to disagree with that.

If I was going to name a Beatles album, I'd go with Sgt. Pepper. Song for song, Revolver, Rubber Soul, The White Album and Abbey Road are all superior. Sgt. Pepper actually has a surprising amount of mediocre stuff on it considering that it's often hailed as the greatest album of all time.

I agree about Sgt Pepper, I like the songs but they aren't that great compared to other things by them.

I'll have to agree with you on Master of Puppets, but Ride the Lightning is one of my all time favorite albums, is the only metallica I can stand to listen too over and over.

I like Metallica's early albums a lot, but there were much better thrash albums coming out at the same time which never got as much recognition.

He's right. The Blueprint is superior on a musical level and far more varied, even if it's not as strong as Reasonable Doubt in the flow/lyrics departmennt.

Uhhh, no. Reasonable Doubt has 0 skippable songs while Blueprint has quite few like Jigga That N1gga, All I Need, and Girls, Girls, Girls. Reasonable Doubt you can listen to front to back almost anytime. I don't even need to mention the difference in lyrical quality so that goes without saying.

Reasonable Doubt is a little more consistent, but I don't think its high points are as high as The Blueprint.

The Queen is Dead by The Smiths. I'm a HUGE Smiths Fan, however, I feel The Queen is Dead is nowhere near their best album. I personally think that "Meat is Murder" is their best album. The Queen is Dead had a bit too much filler, and It should have ended on "There is a Light that Never Goes Out".

That albums blows in my opinion, I have no idea how it's so popular.
