One of the reasons being is because you're not frequently posting in the thread. The last popularity thread I saw, a user with about a 600 post-count was mentioned by a lot of users because he was contributing to the mini-RC in the thread.

I've noticed that. A lot of these new members get more votes than the people that have been here awhile. What is up with that?GrandJury
