Movie sequels superior to the original in almost every way

what movie sequels would you honestly admit are better then the original film? ill start:

Aliens (watching it right now too..)

aliens really is better then alien 1 in almost ever way. besides just being a kick ass movie, it also contained some truly memorable quotes. whenever i think of the franchise i think of private hudson shouting "GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!!!!"

I liked certain aspects more from the first than the second, although as a whole i'd say Spiderman 2 is the better film.

I liked Green Goblin from the first quite a bit, his character was insane and the ending was great too. But then I also like the scene where Spiderman stops the train in two.

Spiderman 2, X2, and even though it isnt out yet The Dark Knight looks like its gonna be a lot better than Batman BeginsFUBAR24

Godfather part 2, Terminator 2, Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness.

I can't agree with Aliens being better than Alien. They really were two completely different films. Alien focused more on the survival/horror aspect, while Aliens just wanted to blow crap up. It's like saying First Blood part 2 was better than First Blood.

Aliens totally.

Mad Max: Road Warrior. Really a bigger and better version of Mad Max.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Added so much depth to the characters and an infinitely badass villain.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. I don't like Star Wars but A New Hope really wasn't difficult to beat.

There wasn't really anywhere to go with the survival horror thing once the Aliens had been fully exposed to us. The fear of the unknown had been lost.

actually i think alien was better because you didn;t even know what to expect, but in aliens (unless that was your frist alien movie) you have an idea of what's going to happen. PLus the fact that James Cameron gave pretty much not credit to Hr Giger for the alien design and pretty much everything alien that makes him a total douche bag. Aliens was a good movie, but not better than the original.

I thought Alien was better than Aliens. They're different types of movies. Alien is about isolation, fear of the unknown and the dangers of advanced AI. Aliens is basically a war movie.

T2 is much better than the original.

Empire > New Hope.

IMO Godfather P II > P I, but not by a huge margain.

I agree with the mentions for Spiderman 2, X-Men 2, and Terminator 2. I also liked Aliens better than Alien, although they are completely different films.

Other choices:

Toy Story 2 - Better story, better animation, great new cast of characters.

Blade 2 - It had Ron Perlman and a better director (just please oh god don't ever mention the third movie).

No-one's said Kill Bill 2 yet. I was left slightly underawed by the first; it seemed like it was just setting the scenario with a big fight at the end. The second was genious though. Pai Mei has to be one of the best characters ever invented.Junkie_man

I see Kill Bill as one movie. The reason people didnt like Vol. 1 as much as Vol.2 because Vol. 1 is really just half a movie. Watching the two back to back really makes you appreciate Vol.1 much more.
