Oh gosh there's lots because I love quite few cheesy cult films such as Star Crash and Death Race 2000. But one of my personally highest rated films in my library which wasn't critically well-received is Duck Soup courtesy of the Marx Bros.

The island i thought the concept of the movie was awesome except i heard it was copied from somewhere but w.e.
I think what this topic is really about is the love of "garbage" films that predictably met with critical disapproval but that you found unavoidably enjoyable.
At least... that's how I'll interpret it. Two answers come immediately to mind:
WASN'T critically received?? Because of when it came out i guess?? :o That movie is awesome, my first Marx Bro.s movie!Oh gosh there's lots because I love quite few cheesy cult films such as Star Crash and Death Race 2000. I'm with you on this one. 13th Warrior and Troy for me. 13th Warrior is one of my favorite films ever.Alien VS Predator was awesome :P Oh well maybe I have bad taste
Mario2007
Half Baked.smokingsbadYou're the third person with a Dragonball Z sig I've seen today (Including me). Their getting popular all of a sudden.
critics like blade runner lol http://www.metacritic.com/movie/blade-runnerI liked Sucker Punch, the critics did not. I also love Blade Runner, and the critics hated that movie when it was released.

Someone didn't check Rotten Tomatoes. Watchmen and Cloverfield got a decent rating. I think Crank 2 did, too.Watchmen, Crank 2, Due Date, Tron: Legacy, Cloverfield, and many many others.

OT beat me to this thread. Anyway, I have no idea what you guys are basing this off. I have seen like 10-movies people listed and it got good-feedback by critics. Seriously, check Rotten Tomatoes. I'd have to go with:
The Uninvited-RT: 31% - Me: 6.9/10
The Butterfly Effect-RT: 33% - Me: 8.0/10
Those films come to mind.
I'm getting pretty annoyed right now. Scott Pilgrim VS The World got great reviews by the critics. (Check RT) Just because it isn't at the Oscars, don't mean it was a bad-film. I'm kinda surprised if it wasn't nominated for 'Best Special-Effect's' and/or 'Sound Mixing'.Only ones that come to mind are:
Bardock47
- Final 2 Matrix Movies
- Both Micheal Bay Transformer movies
- Battle for L.A.
- and last most defiantly not least SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD should've done much better and and shouldn'tgot snubbed at the oscars.

I didn't realize it got great reviews, I was under the impression is met with mixed, but thats better I guess. Yeah I was surpries as well, I didn't expect it to get Best Picture (though personaly I would have) but I was shocked it didn't get Special effects, sounds, music, or even editing.Only ones that come to mind are:

Bladerunner was pretty good... in fact I rather enjoyed it. It's such a chillout film.

It's also widely considered to be one of the best sci-fi films ever so it doesn't really fit in this thread.
I thought it was just a cult classic. I heard it recieved rather average reviews at the time.
The American comes to mind.super_mario_128
It wasn't well received critically?
*looks up*
My gosh you're right...I thought it was just the common man that was divided over that film. Ah well, I found it to be a great film nonetheless.
I came in here to say that.I watched the road to el dorado when I was a kid (about 6 years old or something) and I loved the movie, and then I watched it a few more times over the years, I think the last time I watched the movie was 3 years ago and I still liked it.
recently I found out that the movie was not well received by critics and that it was a box office failure...I was so dissapointed :(
and plenty of other action films which seem cheap but were nonetheless good

Also, and more importantly: what the hell is this s***?
I didn't like the movie or anything, but Freddy Got Fingered is "Apparently" the worst comedy of all time

I hated/loved(I didn't know what to feel) the first-30 minutes or so. When the film was over, I wanted to go to the main-menu and push play. I haven't had that feeling since 'The Prestige'.[QUOTE="XxxExtremeNJBXx"][QUOTE="Bardock47"]
