valkyrie - decent movie, suspenful at times, but not suspensful enough. the ending is bitter, but cruise's character wasn't developed enough. one particular shoot out in a hall is surprisingly powerful.

friday the 13th (2009) - garbage. caca. trash. filth. not suspenful or scary, over use of F bombs, all the girls are whores
the cute innocent girl dies.
haunting in connecticut - uses too may horror cliches. men in appearing in mirrors, pop out scares and the like. the ectoplasm scene is terrifyingly haunting, but thats about it.

tyson - amazing documentary. hear tyson's story in his own words. he doesn't have that menacing glare anymore. he traded in his sinister & famous flared eyebrows for more chinky eyes, and chubby cheeks. you feel his pain in his words.

been watching a lot of movies lately, don't know why. soon to watch: the descent which was recommended to me here on OT.

so, what was the last movie you saw? what did you think about it?

Last movie I saw in theaters was Harry Potter, and I left feeling pretty "Meh" about it. I grew up with Harry Potter, that book was my least favorite, and the movie was pretty much the same as the book.

The last movie I watched was Fired Up, which was a pretty enjoyable waste of 2 hours. Nothing special, but a fairly decent way to spend your time if you're rolling through Blockbuster with nothing better to do.

I saw Quarantine. It started off nicely, for the first 40 minutes I was enraptured, then it became Cloverfield meets Blair Witch meets 28 days later. The end was plain retarded.

I also saw Role Models: funny movie.

Lastly I saw He's Just Not That Into You (my GF made me watch it :| ) it ... was ... ok. SJ's boobies are amazing.

Lollita 1962 version was the last one I watched. It was interesting, unnerving, and very entertaining. I probably wouldn't watch it again, but it's worth seeing once. Before that I watched After The Fox, which is one of my favorites. I was having a Peter Sellers marathon this month.

I heard the book was great, and not just for pedos either, like, a classic. The material is a little unsettling as you put but I read it was an analogy for the author's relationsip with his Mother Russia.

Yeah, I mean it wasn't a bad movie at all, it's just that I was expecting a little more, probably because Harry Potter was my favorite book series growing up.

I recently saw Catch 22 and Downfall.

Catch 22 had a number of funny moments. I've never read the book, so I can't really do a comparison.

Downfall has some of the best acting in a war movie I've ever seen. Because of that, it's become one of my favorite war films alongside Taegukgi and Schindler's List.

Yea, I've read a review of the novel, but haven't actually read it. I didn't know that about Russia, but I can see how that would make sense depending on how he was representing it. I really watched that one more for Kubrick, but Sellers didn't hurt it any.

I thought Lolita was a fantastic film. All of Stanley Kubrick's films are fantastic, and no exception for Lolita.

I've been watching the crappiest movies I can find. Namely Dragonball and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li.

The latter was actually unintentionally hilarious with Chris Klein doing the worst acting I've ever seen in film as detective Charlie Nash. Imagine a cross between Keanu Reeves, Nicholas Cage, and David Caruso and you have an idea. It was the saving grace of the entire film though and had me in stitches. I cheered every time he came in scene. I wrote a pretty long blog about it but if you want to see a snippet, check him out:http://video.yahoo.com/watch/5401878/14224108

Fox is doing their best to keep all his scenes from the movie mum which is a shame because there used to be an amazing youtube tribute.

Oh man, The Thing is such a kickass movie!!! Has some of my fav horror scenes (like the blood testing scene)!!!

Anyways, I just watched Evil Dead 2 tonight for the first time and I LOVED it!!! Beats the hell out of the original IMO and it had some of the most awesomely ridiculous scenes I have ever scene! Sooooo entertaining and it really makes me want to see Drag Me to Hell now.

Public Enemies - liked it a lot. I love the way it's filmed.

Coraline - needs more cat. Other than that it's a very good movie.

Beowulf - well, this one surprised me. I moved closer to the screen to see all the details, it's an incredible visual spectacle. This is the future of cinema, not only because it allows you to cast anyone if it has the right voice, but also because it will eventually be as cheap or cheaper than using physical sets and because it allows you to create scenes that would be impossible otherwise.

The most recent one at the cinema was Moon, fantastic film, it's low budget but better than most movies I've seen this year, I suggest you watch it.
