[QUOTE="Ace6301"][QUOTE="PWSteal_Ldpinch"] You came into my thread. Trust me, I would never seek out what you have to say outside of my own threads. You are honestly one of the most ignorant people on a forum full of teenagers. You don't know the most basic differences between religions yet you post in religious threads all the time. Answer this question without looking it up. Which came first, hinduism or buddhism?PWSteal_Ldpinch
I went into your thread because they make me laugh. Plus you're fun to mess with.

I wonder if anybody takes you seriously on TDH. I doubt it. Also your jokes are corny. There is no value in anything you post.

Maybe, can't say it would bother me. I'm sure a guy who stalked someone and attempted to black mail them over internet drama wouldn't understand the concept of not taking the internet seriously though.

I wish islam wasn't so violent or oppressive.

If this was Buddhism spreading rapidly I really wouldn't care.

Every era has a religion that tries to take over the Earth. This era's just happens to be radical Islam. I doubt it'll go anwhere. The more it tries to push it's ideals by oppressing and killing people, the more ferociously people fight back.

[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="PWSteal_Ldpinch"] I know for a fact that it is illegal to be atheist in Malaysia and other Muslim countries. PWSteal_Ldpinch

............. Can't I get this through your thick skull, a THEOCRACY of any kind is bad.. Christians do not control the United STates or the west, they are SECULARIZED countries.. Do people even understand what they are talking about.. a Theocracy of ANY kind be it Christian, Muslim etc etc and I would be screwed for my beliefs and ideas..

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure the Vatican is a theocracy. And yet they don't execute atheists in the Vatican. You didn't think about that did you.

..................... Wha what? The Vatican literally governs NOTHING any more, they control a small prop of land and thats it.. .. Italy has its own secular government.. And funny you should say that because the Catholic Church has quite a history of killing disbelievers and persecuting.. The Vatican church by the current pope also purposelly opposed the UN law that would outlaw countries from imprisoning people for being homosexual.. People seem not to get that religions in power of any kind is bad news.. Or shoudl I start tallying off the history of any religion out there when it was in power as a theocracy? LEts not forget at the hilarious lengths the Catholic Church has had to change through the centuries to stay relevant to society.. Not the other way around.. The Catholic church of today is much different from what it was say 1000 years ago..

Vatican City is a city state ruled by a non-hereditary theocracy.

The theocracy controls the borders and the politics of its ~832-man population.

An ~832-man city state is still more than nothing...and the Catholic Church has over a billion members worldwide.

The Pope still has incredible power and influence in the world, but you're right that the actual territory the Catholic theocracy directly controls is extremely small.

And yet again what they say is not law to their members.. How bout we look at the time period when the Catholic Church actually wielded power like a government.. Its not pretty.. Theocraciecs are not good, they are controlled by a fanatical elite and pretty much do not value personal liberties, democracy etc etc.. Its funny too because the MIddle East in many areas was going down social reform in which countries like the US prevented this.. Iran is the poster child for this sad state of affairs.. Mosadeq was a moderate socialist and democratically elected president of Iran.. After he kicked out the British and nationalized their oil, the US conviently kicked him out of power for being a "supposed" communist and put into power the brutal and corrupt Shah.. The Shah systematically wiped out ever force he thought was a threat, meaning mainly Cold War related ones, such as the intellectuals and social labor movements.. The one movement he did not deem as a threat, and proved his down fall was the increasing religious fanatacism growing within the region.

Oh, I completely agree.

Religion should never, ever, ever interfere with government on any level whatsoever.

And a government controlled by religion is a fundamentally backwards one, regardless of what the religion actually is.

-

I was just saying that the Pope still has a ton of influence.

He goes to countries and people cheer at him in the streets.

Every comment he makes is reported on all major news sources.

-

American news organizations spent weeks talking about that American who became a Catholic cardinal.

Whether you like it or not, the Catholic Church still has tremendous influence, even if they can't directly control people or make laws outside of Vatican City.

Its still secular in regard, its not controlled by a select few unelected holy men.. But a democratic multi party system.. People need to understand that when we have a select few unelected people (especially ones who claim to lead by divine right) in charge.. We have problems when it comes to civil liberties.. We did not get such ways in the west because of it, in fact we advanced when the monarchies and the church stopped becoming the major pilars of power...

Never argued it wasn't a huge influence, but the Catholic church is not beyond being criticized.. These theocracies are, htey are basically divine dictatorships that to question them is to go against god in a way.. Such thoughts regardless of religion or political ideal is dangerous.

We have better things to do than pander to xenophobes like the TC who try and make their deluded views seem like the norm through forums like this, just so they can rationalize their paranoia. They act like they are scholars on subjects like scripture, when they are in fact nothing more than sanctimonious fear-mongerers who use religion, not as a tool of self-enlightenment and purification, but as a tool of oppression.

Well I hear that the birthrate of Muslims is about 8.5 or something and the birthrate of other groups of people is usually around 1.5-2. So really Muslims will be the dominant race here. Sounds alright to me.

Too bad 100,000 people believe in this utter nonsense.

PWSteal_Ldpinch
Muslim Brotherhood has 50 million supporters in Egypt alone.

thats scary, as we all know egypt is a world power that can easily spread its ideals through force.
