i know this shouldnt be in offtopic but you guys are the most helpful out of all the forums

but

I just got a zune today, and i accidently plugged it in before i installed the software

now it wont read that my zune is connected, and theres a huge battery picture on my zune even after I discconet it, it seems frozen...and i tried restarting it but that wont work either, i also tried reinstalling the software

what should i do? im letting it "drain out" and hoepfully the battery will die and then i can finnaly plug it in at the right time. but any other suggestions?

thought about calling Zune support?

I'm not sure why it says don't connect the Zune before installing...thats how I've installed my Zune almost everytime and had no problem.

I believe the huge battery picture means it has no battery. Have you tryed letting it charge?

Some things can factor in why it doesn't recognize it. Try plugging in a different device in that usb port and see if that is recognized. Try plugging your Zune in another port on your computer. Mine didn't recognize because there appears to be something wrong with my two front usb ports so I tried the port in the back and it works. I've decided to buy a usb hub where I can plug in up to 7 devices at the same time and it will only take up one usb port on my computer.

Maybe. You can try plugging your zune in another usb port. Try all of em.

When it runs out of battery power (Or you reset it), turn off your computer, plug it in, and then turn on your computer. That might work.

Lulz dude, don't worry. Reset it and plug it in the USB, it charges while it's on the computer.
