You should get another one to help ease the pain.

I would hold of on this one during the greiving period. Many dog owners make this mistake and then its the new dog that ends up suffering because the owners either overcompensate or resent the dog for not being like the previous dog.
When you know you're ready then you can get a new dog - if you feel that is an option.

That's a good point. I guess it isn't much different than breaking up with a girlfriend/boyfriend.

Damn, that isn't an easy way to go out.
I'm very sorry to hear for your loss and you have my sympathy. Do you perhaps have a picture of your dog?Lord_Daemon

I have a dog that gets frequent seizures so that is a scary thought.

:( reminds me of my dog. I just celebrated having her for 1 year yesterday. I'm so sorry. At least now her pain is gone and she is over rainbow bridge and all that nice stuff. And she remembers how much you love her and all the good things you guys have been through together.

yeah...one of my dogs has seizures sometimes...I should look into this...
anyway...I remember losing a dog to a rare virus...it sucks, but I got two other dogs as soon as I could. It helped a lot. but only get another dog when your ready.
that really sucks...I know how it feels. losing a dog is one of the worst things that could happen to someone.
