[QUOTE="cyberdarkkid"][QUOTE="darthblob10"]Don't worry, Darth Caedus is always listing bands I've never heard of. He's probably the biggest metal-head on OT.

PannicAtack

If you really know Darth then it is unpossible for you not to have heard of Nevermore at least >_>

Well, I think I've heard the name "Nevermore..."

You must listen to teh godly band:P

Darth is a Nevermorehead...

Got that right:P All though for some reason I haven't been listening to them as much lately...

Then that title is no longer yours anymore...

You must listen to them daily, whether you are asleep or even when you are peeing!

I've heard of Nevermore and Wintersun :D still haven't really checked out Wintersun and don't really like Nevermore though :(

chessmaster1989

Got you into some death and black metal and you still can't tolerate Warrel Danes voice?:(

It's not even so much that any more. I just don't really like the music. I'm not sure why, I love Loomis' solo work... :?

But, yes, you are responsible for getting me into some death (Amon Amarth, Bolt Thrower, Opeth, Nile (think Nile was recommended by MrPraline), a few others) and black (Emperor, Dimmu Borgir) metal.

Thats....odd:? You like Nile now too?!?!?:D

Maybe I need to look at them again... which albums do you recommend the most?

And, yes, I picked up Annihilation of the Wicked the other day (cost me less than $5 including shipping from a third party seller on amazon (new copy too) :D).

Yea it gets really boring once you try to listen to a whole album of theirs, it seems to be that way with most technical death metal since I get no feeling from it. Karl Sanders solo work is good though.

[QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"] Quoted for truth. Also: This is without a doubt the worst piece of crap ever made Darth-Caedus

Which is tied up with this obscene crap right here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubfWnIid5J8

Ugh *shudders* why must such horrible excuses for musicians plauge this world

If you put these things into perspective, you'll find that it's the crap music that makes us love and appreciate the "good" music more.

Let them be Darth, they dont need metal. They need the awesomeness of alternative

And yes this stupid generation is probably the worst ive ever listened to in terms of music quality, its like the 70's disco era again or 80's hair metal.

This is barely hip hop. Clearly it's influenced, but this is no different from mainstream pop and even mainstream R&B. Hip Hop being "dead" ( ) has nothing to do with it.

Eh, most popular music has always sucked. You have to look past it and find the truly good bands. One example of a great band from this decade, is Queens of the Stone Age (yes, their first album dropped in '99, but most of them come from the 00's.). Some of the best rock I've heard, including classic rock. And yes, I completely ignored the last 3 pages of posts to answer the OP. Sue me. :PLZ71

Iam sure tho most of the members of QOTSA tho were teenagers tho in the early 90's

Again, what? :?

I was just saying the members of QOTSA where teenagers in the early 90's

Um, as far as I know, Josh Homme is 36, so.... If you want to debate QotSA, talk to Dark Knight. He knows more about them than me.

I'm not going to get to the points of critizicing certain musical styles. One thing I can tell you is that there will always be some good artists, you just need to look for them. Regarding "your generation" ruining music, thats not true. As I said before, good music is still being made. It all comes down to musical tastes.

TC, you are right. Music died after my generation got older. There are still a few gems, and some people my age are still doing their thing while trying to remain "youthful" and relevent. But I have not seen a new icon hit the scene as a teenager/late 20'sin a long time.

Thanks for recognizing this. All I wanted was for someone to apologize for this sad truth.

As soon as the music started I exited. If I don't like it in the first 5 seconds, I don't listen. That was like Disney crap. And yes, this gen of music isn't very good, most of the good artists are confined to Canada or are unheard of.

Not sure if this has been posted before but this video right here depresses me. It doesnt anger me anymore it just depresses me. It is everything that is wrong with music in one song. On behalf of my generation I'd like to apologize to the older generations for this garbage.

Hiphop died the moment it went mainstream. Now its just embarassing

Rock has been dormant for about 15 years. The last great rock movement was 'grunge'

what happened? what the **** happened?!

The National- Fake Empire

Grizzly Bear- While You Wait for the Others

LCD Soundsystem- All My Friends

TV on the Radio- Wolf Like Me

K'naan- What's Hardcore

And the pinnacle of human achievement [citation needed]: ****ed Up feat. Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.

Line for apologies forms to the left. :)
