[QUOTE="linktheworld"] [QUOTE="MissRiotmaker"]That video bored me. Mainly because it was a Mustang. stepnkev
No one told you to watch it. You go make a better video and post it, plus I wasnt going for an exciting video, I was showing people how to merge.
Driving 110 mph on an on-ramp is NOT how you merge. This is just as dangerous if not more so than driving too slow. The key is to start assessing the speed of the traffic as soon as you pull onto the entrance ramp. You failed to do this. From here, turn on your turn signal to let the other drivers know your intention. Yes, you're on an on-ramp and the other drivers should know, but turn your signal on anyway. I didn't notice you had it on so it looked to me like you failed here as well. Use the acceleration lane to MATCH the speed flow. This is where assessing the speed flow you should have done earlier comes in handy. I like to drive SLIGHTLY faster than the flow of traffic since it's easier to slow down slightly than speed up. This DOES NOT mean to go 110mph and driving that fast certainly doesn't help in any way. You failed there as well. If I were an instructor, I would grade your driving with a F- (FAIL)
If I had a video camera, I would film how you should merge onto the highway so we can finally forget about this horrible display of driving.
Go out and buy one, I would like to see your version of how to merge. If you notice by the time I was about to merge, I wasnt going that much faster than the SEMI truck, there was a line of trucks in the right lane, so I am glad I was going that fast, so I didnt have to try and slide in between them.
