My Girlfriend just left for college a month ago and I'm at college myself but four hours away. She has recently made friends with a homosexual guy and its starting to bug me. They go to dinner together and on facebook joke back and forth on facebook statuses. She perceives him as no threat because he is homosexual but it still bugs the crap out of me and I'm not sure why. I'm not a homophobic person nor do I think homosexuals should be deprived of the rights of marriage or anything else but this is just bothering me.

Any advice on how to deal with this?

*ps why is the word "g4y" banned? that seems wrong*

[QUOTE="Sajedene"]I'm loving the paranoia in this thread. Its so cute and sweet how insecure so many of you are :) It's a great insight into the male psyche.Theokhoth

Well, you see, when a man likes a woman, there's an unspoken rule (think of the Eleventh Commandment). Essentially, when a man walks with his arm around his GF in a public setting with other men, he is declaring to the other men, "This is mine! You may not touch, approach, or communicate with this, because I have claimed it for my own!"

To violate that rule. . . yeah, it leads to problems.

See to solve that problem men should just have branding sticks and brand the butts of their significant others.

I already do that. There are two guys out there with an "AF" on their butts. :(

Grow some confidence and stop being so jealous. You can't expect any relationship to work if your girl isn't allowed to have any friends of the opposite sex.

Would you rather she be hanging out with the whole football/basketball team and going to all-night keggers with them? I think not. Although there was this one guy I knew in college who seemed gay and was very effeminate, but it was his way of getting the parents of girls he was seeing to allow him to spend the night in the same room as their daughters. Genius.

If your own was around your boyfriend, would you want other girls approaching him? I get soo irritated when guys hit on my girlfriend when we are obviously out on a date.

It's another gay dude. Who cares. Give your girlfriend some space or she'll resent it. If you can't trust your girlfriend around homosexual men, then how can you trust her around other girls?

I can see why it'd bother you but I don't think it's anything more than her having company. She's probably lonely and has found a guy she gets on with who won't try anything with her. I'd talk to her, tell her how you feel but be understanding :)

That irritates you? I think it's pretty damn awesome! All they can do is look but I can touch :P , my ex and I didn't care much to be honest about silly things like this and we sometimes made a joke out of it.
