I was implying that you have a lifetime of mind numbing, soul crushing responsiblity to look forward to, and you only get to be a kid and be wreckless and irresponsible once. Some of the people here seem to be 14 going on 40.

zakkro

Being a "kid" doesn't give you the right to act irresponsibly...

It's called Halloween and where and when I grew up, it was basically a giant excuse for some incredibly fun vandalism. Hell, we were even pretty well organized. One year ever pumpkin within like a ten mile radius was stolen and taken to the basketball court at the local elementary school and smashed.

In six months I'll be a physician, so shut the hell up. Even I participated in mischief night as a kid. You only get to be a kid and go out and do stupid crap when you're young, so enjoy it while you can. You can be responsible later. Go TP a house or blow up a few mailboxes for me.

cmdrmonkey

So being a physician is comparable to TPing houses? :|

I think he was trying to imply that you can't be a physician and an ass at the same time.

You have responsibilities throughout your entire life not just your adult life. Just because I was a young once did not mean that I had to be disrespectful to others and it did not mean that you had to be either. There are plenty of more productive things that you can do while you are young that become increasingly difficult as you get older and do not take away the joy of others.

It's just a holiday... you hang out with friends and/or family and goof around. I don't see how that gives one the right to vandalize someone's property.

You go dude!!!! People here still give out candy until its 12 am. They do here anyway.... The people who don't have candy would have their porch light out.... Maybe children are in the house by 9, but the teens are still around. Halloween isn't over until 12 am, November 1.

Halloween is ment to be a fun holiday, not a time where you can do vandalism. It a cruel thing to do.

[QUOTE="SuperVegeta518"]I can't stand people like the OP. They have no regard for others property. They don't care about the amount of hard work it took that guy to buy a house nor do they care about the effort it will take to get rid of the eggs or how much it will cost to repair any damages. They also have little respect for others in general seeing as he was trick or treating at 10pm.cmdrmonkey

God, this place is full of such politically correct weenies. Live a little. You sound like you should be getting AARP benefits, but I bet you're like 15. The guy in question was a complete douchebag to total strangers and 10PM isn't that late. He got what was coming to him. I think the OP should have taken a dump on the windshield of his car.

You're being too lenient. The OP should have tortured his children. :|

Why? Because he sucks and I want candy.

God, I can't believe how selfish some people are.

YOU rang his ****ing doorbell at 10 o-freaking-clock PM, expecting him to give you free ****, and then you destroy his property because he told you to leave.

Aye. One of my parents didn't graduate, the other did but barely and was a low-ranked position in the military for over a decade. They didn't eat meat for 2 years because it was too expensive to buy that and feed my brother and I. They worked hard to be smart with their money, and worked at saving as much as possible and working themselves to the bone to improve our lives. Now, my dad's about as high a rank as someone with his education can be, and my mom's running the accounting for a large provincial health service and it's all been through the fruits of their efforts. They taught me how to work hard by getting me a job and responsibility early in my life, and that school was important. To hear about kids just vandalizing for petty, selfish reasons equivalent to a hissy-fit for their parents not getting them a treat...just makes me feel ill.

Lockedge

I don't care! I want free candy! And if you don't give it to me, I'll destroy your ****!

You know what that is? That's bum mentality. That's scumbag mentality. That's the same mindset that people get in when they see a random dude on the street, demand $20, and then break the dude's face because he didn't pull out his wallet fast enough.

Well your only a bum once so that justifies it... (Then you're a prisoner). That's basically the logic that I have seen from cmdrmonkey.

He didn't tell them to leave, he screamed and slammed a door in their face. Not saying he deserved the eggs, but that kind of fit is a good way to make yourself a target. He has every right to be mad, and no right to be surprised.

It still in no way justifies it. If someone said **** you to the bum that was mugging them they may not be surprised when they see him pull out a gun and shoot but it is still murder and it is not any less serious of a crime.

It's a little hard to discuss this when you're comparing trick-or-treating to armed robbery. Particularly when the OP made no mention of threatening, or in any way pushing the guy until after the "**** you". In any case, I wasn't saying it was justified, I was only saying that it's hard to feel sorry for one jerk just because he managed to run into a bigger jerk.

That was the most mature way to handle the situation. zakkro

Well, they said, "Trick or treat."

The guy entered into a binding contract, and they held up their end of the deal.
