So? Christianity and Judaism are disrespected here all the time. Why is it only such a terrible thing when it "happens" to other religions?DarkOfKnightWhat does Christianity and Judaism have to do with this? I stand up against disrespect of all religions... but I guess you didn't know that.

I stand up against disrespect of all religions... but I guess you didn't know that. Good for you, and remember I don't come in this section much so I don't know you. The point was Christianity and Judaism get attacked all the time, so why is it only a big deal when it happens to Islam? In means of fairness shouldn't we be equally offended if they are disrespected? I have seen people burn Bibles, where is the anger over that?
This.OH NO A SWORD ON A FLAG? WHAT SHALL WE EVER DO? Let's take it down so it doesn't injury anybody. That is one of the stupidest things I have heard all day.

lmao
but yeah this is pretty stupid. hell even they are racist, its bad for business anyway. why wouldn't u wanna do business with the Saudi's, get a piece of that colossal oil money lol.
There are a million flags with crosses on them, that's obvious Christian propaganda. PULL THEM ALL DOWN!inoperativeRS
How many of these flags say "There is no God but our God, and there are no prophets," or something to that effect?
If the company wants to take down a flag the employees find offensive, so what?
Remind me again...
why do these Saudi's need your business so bad now?
Could just as easily go do business elsewhere and you can go look for other clients.
It's the Islamic motto and the sword is the House of Saud. Saud under God basically.
Even then if you don't like how Saudi governs itself then why do business with us at all.
EDIT:
Plus for the record, how would the general public in America know what the Arabic script even means. It's just unintelligible script written on a flag to a non-Arab speaker. The most i can see the most thin-skinned person could get offended by is the sword.
Is your company American? I can completely understand your coworkers disdain considering Saudi Nationals have murdered over 3000 American citizens with impunity within the last 10-15 years...67gt500With that logic, do you know how many deaths have been caused by American nationals.
Is your company American? I can completely understand your coworkers disdain considering Saudi Nationals have murdered over 3000 American citizens with impunity within the last 10-15 years...67gt500Yep, terrorists not sanctioned by any government committed 9/11 killing approximately 3000 people, whilst 3rd party figures indicate that the U.S government's involvement within Iraq and Afghanistan have killed more than 6000000 (6 million) innocent civillians due to violent acts of aggression

That figure seems extremely inflated.
a bit hypocritical to take the flag down possibly because of the content but still do business with the country that the flag represents isnt it?
My reaction is that your an @sshole.I was actually proud that my company took this action. What is your reaction?

Would be awesome if you lost your job because they had to cut back on staff because they lost money via that decision.
Would be so, so awesome.
You are so right....I mean the company was selected solely because they'd fly a Saudi flag. That why most businesses enter into contracts. How could they be so shortsighted.....Would be awesome if you lost your job because they had to cut back on staff because they lost money via that decision.

C'mon man, it would be awesome. It would be like some kind of poetic justice if they got themselves laid off.

Conversely what if all the other contracts pulled out because they saw this company as promoting a specific religion?I love how people here love Islam so much.
How can you not see how this could offend people who work for the company? It's not like they hung a cross in place of the flag.
What would you guys say if a Saudi business decided to take down a flag that had a Christian saying? I would bet a lot of money most of you guys would defend them.

Awesome.
I highly doubt any business will be lost. I'd be surprised if a Saudi enterprise or government even consider flying the Saudi flag as part of a contract. And they probably do have a contract now. OT is so righteously indignant over the smallest things....LJS9502_basic
Yeah I doubt their was a stipulation in the contract requiring the flag being displayed. It was most likely the U.S. company displaying the flag as a way to show that they do business with other countries, much in the same way my college displays flags of the countries of past and present foreign students in our Admissions building.

Exactly. In the end it means little......why would you be proud? thats offensive what you guys did, you guys did not need to take it done. Its just a harmless flag that its going to change anything or cause any harm. Your company is racist.
I bet Jesus must be proud. Did you guys sign the american nationalanthem after taking it down?

And I bet many of those who do not take offence to this thread would somehow feel offended if it was a Christian symbol. The perceived double standards go both ways.

Because using it incorrectly makes you appear uneducated.
