How about the Yonagunistructures 60-100 feet below the surface of the ocean off the coast of Japan? Amazing.

Wow. 14,000 years ago? Seems highly improbabale. This stuff intrigues me.

This is probable one of the strangest things I've ever heard of.

The radiation is from an alien ship and/or experiments. The tongue was cut out of the 1 for experimentation, as happens in many cattle mutilations (done with surgical precision). Their behavior after these events isn't that hard to imagine.

I love this thread. You know what's most interesting about a lot of these mysteries? Most of them can be explained by the Ancient Astronaut hypothesis. It explains everything from humans having 46 chromosomes (versus 48 in all primates) to the contents of many ancient (often religious) texts around the world, to the structures at Pumapunku, etc.. It all fits perfectly when you think of Gods as aliens.

I find this sort of stuff so interesting. It really makes you question our actually "understanding" of Earth's history.

I can't find a link for it right now, but I remember reading a really interesting article about how they have found at this certain point of time THOUSANDS of years ago (or maybe millions, I can't remember) they found an insane amount of levels of radiation. Levels so high it suggest a NUCLEAR WAR occured and there are ancient texts or something that actually descrive such a thing happening.

At the same time, not all the mysteries are what they are cracked (lol I am funny) up to be. That article gives solutions for everything from the Dyvatolov pass incident, the Roanoke dissapearance, and the Bermuda Triangle.

I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to these things. I call bulls*** on every "mystery" shared in this thread. I believe there to be a perfectly natural, scientific explanation to all of it.

Well there probably is, it's just we haven't found one yet, so it's interesting to speculate about.

Probably is, just not science that we've discovered yet. Whose to say what is and isn't possible when most if not all of these mysteries defy the very science that defines civilization's evolution?

Heres an interesting one having to do with an incident that occurred in 1940s L.A. Apparently an enormous ship of still unknown origin hovered over the city and soaked up artillery fire unaffectedfor hours before departing. Pretty crazy.

Battle of Los Angeles (the incident on which the new movie is supposedly based)

Lol.. no. The crystal skulls is a legend much older than Indy. There is at least one in existence that defies explanation. It's just too perfect, and made of materials that no early man could have been working with to our knowledge.

Tom Cruise I have no issue with, bizarre behaviour in recent years notwithstanding; I rate him as a highly capable actor. On the other hand I can never look at Mr Murphy's frantically gurning visage without coming over all murdery.

The one that's really interesting is the Mitchell-Hedges skull. Some of the other skulls seem to be very crude replicas, and often it's fairly obvious how they were made. This one, however.. :?

The dylotav pass is caused by an avalanche. The womens tongue was either cannibalized or eaten by an animal. Radiation was NOT present, just a myth. The bodies were found weeks after they died, and the sun/white snow gave them a tan. don't trust Wikipedia

There was a story I read in Weird NJ that went a bit like this: So these guys were driving down a country road, it was late at night and they ended up stoping the car for a reason I don't quite remember. I forget whether they left the car or not but out side the car there was a field and the field became quite foggy, now the weird part is that they saw these dispraportionatly tall people, they looked black or gray in the fog and they either stood their or walked closer and the one part that really freaked me out was they heard WWII bombing sirens. NJ is quite a weird place and I am proud to live in such a wonderful land.

No, that was the two part episode from season 2 of the original Generation One cartoon series, it was called Megatron's Master Plan, when Megatron used a powerful man's greed to his advantage in order to have the Autobots seen as the enemy and banished from Earth. He then had the pre-programmed destination for the ship the Autobots were forced to leave Earth on changed so that instead of heading back to Cybertron, they would crash into Earth's sun.

The 1986 movie is set in the year 2005, it's pretty much a movie where many of the pre-movie cast are killed off and new faces are introduced. It's not a perfect movie, but vastly better than the more recent movies in so many ways.

Just an interesting read from cracked. Sorry if mine is not the best there is, most people already showed the really interesting stuff. Also:

http://www.angelfire.com/trek/caver/page1.html

It's basically Ted's caving story, I think this is quite an old one so chances are some of you know about it, but its a long although worthwhile read for those that have yet to read it.

Be sure to read the caving story first before reading the spoiler, otherwise the whole mood of everything might be ruined.
Its fake though, it was supposedly taken off of some book that followed the exact same story. But hey, its much more fun if you believe it was real
Saw this on Anienct Aliens a while ago, kind of make you think

Also

You watch Ancient Aliens? I thought I was the only one on this site.

I saw that program too (not sure if there is more than one episode or not). But in any event, I found it INCREDIBLY entertaining, but equally as far fetched. Especially with all the emphasis they put on Pakal and the cover to his tomb. Just last Sunday I was at a cathedral that was built 75 years ago. In the center of the church there was a large piece of architecture meant to hide some of the pipes of the organs. I actually thought of Pakal while I was looking at it, because it TOTALLY could be interpreted as a "space ship" if one wanted to. The twelve apostles were carved into one section of it (which I guess would have been the control room).

Ugh, I REALLY have to learn how to post photos. But, if you go to this google search page, it will be the 7th picture result (link: google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&biw=1004&bih=608&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=st+agnes+rockville+centre+ambo&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=

My point is, there are TONS of things that look like space ships, but aren't.
