I tell you what, if nasa can make magic rocks that create water and donates all of them, they can have my blessing.

He could create stars. But he wouldn't study them, leaving humanity ignorant about them.
TC is clearly a rock specialist who is way more educated than the people in NASA.
Keep it up TC, we need more prodigies like you!

Just because you find rocks, doesn't mean there is water. I've walked around desert and found rocks, and didn't see no ocean.

Throwing money away. There are people starving and dying in the streets and we're paying these guys billions to say rocks make water.
it's an estimated cost of 31 billion dollars to end world hunger for a year. Do we(the world) do it? sadly no.

it would probably cost a lot less if we went off mcdonalds dollar menu.[QUOTE="k2theswiss"][QUOTE="0rbs"]

Pot meet kettle.Considering the earth's human population, we need megacities or space colonies soon, but if we build mobile suits there might be an Operation Meteor. Decisions like this are difficult to make.BranKetra
How about we work on things like curing the common cold first?

Dealing with overpopulation is more important than a runny nose and some coughing.Oh man that was too good.....jesus put those there because he was bored after hiding all the fossils.

I dunno about 0rbs or his history, but I agree with this statement. I'm all for space exploration and what it can give us and how it can benefit us, but lets be quite frank here, space exploration hasn't given us anything that we can use practically right now. Yes it's increased our knowledge and helped us understand the universe and I'm grateful for it, but I would rather any potential extra NASA funding, went into more concerning matters, like taking care of the people here, on our planet.Just because you find rocks, doesn't mean there is water. I've walked around desert and found rocks, and didn't see no ocean.

The shape of these rocks indicate that water was flowing above them. Similar to the rocks you find at the bottom of a stream or river.

So all rocks that are round produce water?

No but your brain does[QUOTE="Ace6301"]I wish NASA had more funding :(LaihendiIf the government was not spending over a trillion dollars of tax revenues on welfare programs each year then perhaps there would be more money for scientific research. I'd rather have some of that military budget go toward NASA. One uses their budget to blow up people on the other side of the planet and the other goes a long way to creating new technologies and given how beneficial some of the technologies NASA has given us in the past are for all of humanity it's quite likely they will continue to do so. Given how incredibly bloated the US military budget is it could stand to lose a couple billion and not take a hit in effectiveness whereas Welfare, while it could do with a bit of reform, is extremely difficult to remove funding from without having widespread repercussions. Seraphim: NASA is probably one of the best investments mankind has ever made as far as technological progress is concerned. The amount of medical and everyday practical items that they've created and perfected in large part to overcome issues with space travel is pretty overwhelming when you actually look at a list.

I disagree. Notice how there was an increase in diseases and viruses as soon as we started exploring space? We go out with dreams of exploration and come back with viruses from hell.

You would dismiss any non-private research as flawed and in use to control the population anyway.

0.5 cents. Half a penny funds everything Nasa has done. Half a penny buys the space shuttle, it buys the space station, it buys the rovers and it buys the satellites. I know I know... REALLY expensive right? **** your starving people in the streets ill give them my half penny. I'd give Nasa one WHOLE dollar.... It feels good putting my money towards the preservation of the human species.
You sound nuts.

NASA does a lot more than waste money. The amount of technology and science and progress they have contributed to the human race is pretty damn impressive.
example
long list of examples
That's not to say money was not wasted; as with most government agencies, there is likely a lot of bureaucracy and wasted time (money)
