Favourite exercises / routines?

Depends on what my goals are for a given time window. If I'm looking for raw strength gains, I'll do a variation of stronglifts; madcow. If I'm trying to bulk I'll do PHAT routines. I've also started mixing in FOXSETS with my routine. FOXSET: You basically choose one exercise in your routine and set your rep pattern as; 5 reps of .5 weight limit, 5 reps of .75 weight limit, 5 reps of weight limit. That is one set. Three sets of that. If I'm cutting; I just run like a maniac.

Your bodybuilding / fitness goals?

I just got off of a cut. I weighed in at 165 last winter. Cut down to 125 by summer of 2011. Now I'm bulking back up with 7% body fat and trying to clean bulk back to 155.

On any weight gain / loss diets?

Weight gain diet; Gallon of Milk a Day (GOMAD)

Ways to get motivated?

I'm in law school. I have enough stress to motivated me to move mountains if I have to. That, and my job requires me to be able to subdue people.

And is fitness through gaming, such as Wii Fit, real fitness?

Maybe for cuts if you have a big enough caloric deficit.

[QUOTE="BranKetra"]That was one guy. You said plenty. Depending on the person, you can know. Take Mark Rippetoe, for example. Actually, I started really training hard at 175 lbs. You just have to force the change. You need a good diet for any gains. I would recommend supplements like mulitvitamins, but I don't know what TC means by "natural." For all I know, he could be on a raw food diet. A gallon a day diet works. Just don't eat as much and the fat won't build up. You're probably lean. People with lower bodyweights can do bodyweight exercises easier than your average 300-lb bodybuilder can. It's the weight.

Ok fine so the ones out of shape aren't many :P (did you read the muscle-up article that guy was a freak), still mark ripptoe is another and so is Glenn Pendlay. I guess they aren't out of shape but their not like Jim Wendler (That guys a beast definitely gives me a lot of motivation) I stick to eggs, whole milk, red meats, nothing you would guess I eat if you saw me unfortunately. While gaining is hard I've learned it's completely doable and I find managing my weight very easy. It's just a matter of doing the right work to gain it and then dieting down right. Lowest I've had my bf while still maintaining my muscle and strength was 8-9%. I have a piss-poor appetite I could eat one PB sandwich a day and be happy. Eating 2500+ calories does NOT make me a happy man. I did GOMAD when I just started to do like you said, force the change. Ok so he's not 300lbs but BW means little compared to the fat on you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8874JYBIODQ I can still do pull-ups with 115lbs on me (only like 4 lol) which would make me heavier than most. At the end of the day I workout because I really enjoy it same with eating healthy, despite some set-backs overall it has helped my joint problems and other health issues (crappy heart health for a 20 year isn't funny business, I couldn't even run when I started lifting). and btw what's your bf around now? 175-220 is great if you're still somewhat lean. @vandalvideo- how tall are? 125lbs seems incredibly low if you cut down to that, did you lose more muscle mass than you intended?

Yeah, I read that a little earlier. Some people at my campus gym were talking about muscle-ups. Seems good.

I stick to eggs, whole milk, red meats, nothing you would guess I eat if you saw me unfortunately. While gaining is hard I've learned it's completely doable and I find managing my weight very easy. It's just a matter of doing the right work to gain it and then dieting down right. Lowest I've had my bf while still maintaining my muscle and strength was 8-9%. As far as foods, it really depends. I don't see wheat or junk foods as all that appetizing. I mostly eat meat and vegetables. Fruits are good, too.

Ok so he's not 300lbs but BW means little compared to the fat on you I suppose. It's more important to have muscle. 120 lbs with little body fat doesn't mean much if there isn't any muscle.

PullupsThat was good.

I can still do pull-ups with 115lbs on me (only like 4 lol) which would make me heavier than most. Weighted pullups are good. I like working out with weighted clothing.

At the end of the day I workout because I really enjoy it same with eating healthy, despite some set-backs overall it has helped my joint problems and other health issues (crappy heart health for a 20 year isn't funny business, I couldn't even run when I started lifting).Squats are good for that.

and btw what's your bf around now? 175-220 is great if you're still somewhat lean.

I don't know. My guess would be somewhere between 5-10%.

I just tried out the sixpackshortcut lean and ripped leg workout and the killer towel workout (lol) and my chest is burning! Some damn good cardio in there, I'll definitely be doing this instead of jogging for now, see how it goes. Yep squats are great they're what got my heart healthy again :) Good job staying lean at that weight.

Every other day, I consider cardio 'rest days', and I take two 'real rest days'.

I use NO Xplode (alternate with Jacked, have used blackpoweder, the muscle tech brand VapoNO or something and super pump in the past), Optimum Whey. Optimum Casein, Multi, Vitamin C, Joint and fish oil capsules, and Xtend.

I focus on Deadlift, Bench, Leg Press, Military Press/Laterals, Shrugs, Curls, Close Grip, Skull Crushers and on it goes...I know squats are the best and I did them high school and college, but now that i am working full time and not playing sports, leg press extensions leg curls and straight legged deadlifts to the work. I still do squats occasionally if I am feeling great.

O yea, and train each muscle once a week. Anymore than that I think is over training if you have been lifting for multiple years and you doseveral sets for each muscle. For example Chest I would do 16-20 sets (bench & variations, dips, sometimes flyes and cable crossover/pec dec) and not hit again for a full week. Always worked well.

Advice for what goal? I would find it hard to link to anything/everything I have found to be useful of the years. I am always looking for something to add/change and have been lifting for almost 15 years = way too much info to cram in w/out any parameters

do you even lift?

Although gaming is super fun, it's important to balance our lifestyles with exercise too. You may not neccessarily become invincible like you can in games, but feeling physically / mentally better through exercise is always a welcome change. So...

Favourite exercises / routines?

Doing a push/pull split

Your bodybuilding / fitness goals?

200lbs at 8-10% bodyfat

On any weight gain / loss diets?

Just eating enough to gain about 3 lbs a month

Links to good resources?

Bodybuilding.com

Ways to get motivated?

I don't know

Nicksonman

Anyone know how much fat I'll gain if I'm going up 3lbs per month?

A mix of P90x and Insanity. I love it. Easy routine and fast results.

Favourite exercises / routines?
Squats - Hate them when i'm halfway through the set but on the last push i feel so great for completing the most hardest and rewarding exercise ever.
Bench Press - As any weight lifting enthusiast would love this

I also tend to hate most of the exercises for my lats, traps and middle back as i dont like the feel of pulling exercises as much as i like the feel of pushing ones.

Your bodybuilding / fitness goals?

Gain more arm muscle and calves while burning of these few pounds of fat i've put on the past year

On any weight gain / loss diets?

Just really on my usual with less reliance of big buggette ****rolls where i'd cram everything into and now i'm onto whey protein low carb shakes.

Links to good resources?

Depends what you're looking for

Ways to get motivated?

Find yourself some sort of fitness/body building idol that you want to be like tho not the same as, when it comes to body building mine is Frank Zane as we're both ectomorphs and another of mine is Cro Cop because he has been my idol and heor for years now.

And is fitness through gaming, such as Wii Fit, real fitness?
(would've been its own thread, but the answer is pretty obvious to me)

If your a fat couch potato that exercises maybe once a year it may do wonders for you

oh its possible, But the only way you'll do it is by losing healthy weight, and i mean muscle mass + water weight with the rest possibly being fat, if you said 30 pounds in 3 months i'd say with some hardwork you could lose it nice and healthy but in 3 weeks you may aswell be going to a concentration camp

I'll answer your question about how to get motivated: Desire getting ripped and then work out consistently and hard enough to get ripped and then look in the mirror. The motivation as you see change is perpetual.
