Three Kings a cool, campy, war/action movie. It was basically the film version of "Battlefield:Bad Company."

I would take BHD over the Kingdom. And yes I will never abrreviate that title to BHD ever again.

The Sum of all Fears.

The Manchurian Candidate (Remake).

Body of Lies.

its not supossed to be a shallow action war movie like Black hawk down, it is supossed to show you that alot of war is waiting for something to happen. Jarthead is similar to The Thin Red Line and Full Metal jacket, do you think those films are self indulgent? It's ok if you dont like Jarhead, but I will disagree with you. Shame A-Tarkovsky isnt here anymore, I loved my film debates with him.

War Inc. is another great war film, but it is not traditional. It is a war satire, it is about a prive company making war on a small middle eastern country and they send an assassin to run a convention while they slowly take over the small country. It came out this year and I recommend it.

And yes it has Hillary Duff, and no she isn't bad in it.

I fell asleep watching Jarhead. It was nothing special, I knew going into it, it wouldn't be another black hawk down reading for the reviews but I thought the dialogue would keep me entertained sadly it did not, The Downfall on the other hand even despite no actual battles was a solid film that I would recommend to anyone

I am aware of what its intentions are. Its about waiting to go into combat and boredom. It is made with different intentions to Black Hawk. That film was meant to show you the ground combat from a soldiers perspective. There are no heroes in it. And - to that purpose - it is very successful in capturing the combat, the battle scenes, etc.

Jarhead is nothing like The Thin Red Line - that film is more about nature and the philosophy of war. It probably is very indulgent because many people didn't understand what was happening in it (it didn't help being released near Private Ryan). However, I still found it highly entertaining, more than Jarhead, which I think is too obvious a jab at the US Army. Didn't really care about the characters. I thought the beginning was very nasty.

Shame A-Tarkovsky isnt here anymore, I loved my film debates with him.

Film-Guy

Banned? I miss his facial hair!!

The Hunt for Eagle One was okay.
I can't think of good modern day movies, but The Lost Batallion and Saving Private Ryan were good movies.
