Unfortunaltely I have been in a place like that. A friend from High School called me a few years back and I hadnt talked to him in about 6 years. He was telling me he met this new girl and they moved to a small city about 40 miles from me and invited me to stop by sometime. I did, and it was the 2nd most traumatic experience Ive ever had. The place was covered with piles of dirty clothes on the floor, boxes and boxes of knick-knack, DVD's, cat crap all over the living room being used as footstools at the end of thier something-stained couch that I refused to sit on. The dirty dishes were piled high, covering both kitchen counters and there were half-eaten TV dinners left ALL over the house(behind and under the couch and coffee tables). We went back to his computer room and his girlfriends soiled panties were lying right on the floor and thats when I cut my visit short. I dont remember the excuse I gave but I was prepared to beat him unconsious if thats what I had to do to escape that place.
As I mentioned that was the 2nd most traumatic experience.........the 1st being when the same guy called me a few months later to help him move after that girlfriend of his left him for some guy she met on the internet and took kis car and a lot of his expensive belongings and moved 4 states away. I was not into the idea, but he offered me $150 to help for 6 hours. OK, sure. I get there and of course the guy is all whining about the chubby skank that broke his heart. Im not a sympathetic guy and I kept cutting him off every time he decided to go back into the subject. That alone, was a hassle. Then, we go into the house.........and I was floored. The place was 3 times as disgusting as before! Hundreds of Kwik-shop cups littlered every square inch of the place, it was so packed with junk that there were skinny, snaking paths that led to the other rooms, the cockroaches were openly browsing around like it was the State Fair! My stomach was turning, but I maintained my composure. The guy was so depressed that he was just shuffling around and not getting anything done. I kept on him and said "Hey dude, I got just a few hours, so lets get this done." Then he asked my to help pack boxes, NO, NO, dude Im not packing, I came to help move the big stuff(couches, washer, dryer, etc) I was not about to touch any of that stuff. So, he finally understands and says theres some big items upstairs, so we go up to the room of the daughter of his girlfried who had just turned 13......Ugh, I probably dont need to go into detail about the pile of bloody sanitary products piled in the corner of the closet. I left that room instantly and walked into the biggest shock of the day. I asked him if he spilled a potted plant on the stairs because the carpet was covered in what looked like potting soil. It was in reality human feces! I guess the girls 11 year old boy had this thing where he would be too lazy when he had to go #2, and just let it go in his pants where it would evetually dry and crumble out his pant legs as he walked around the house! The whole house was covered in this and I was on the verge of vommiting. I had been walking on it for 45 minutes and had no idea!
Yeah, I left, I threw my $90 Nikes away and never talked to that guy again. He never used to be like that when I knew him from before and Im sure the scummy girl he'd hooked up with presented a lot of that lifestlye to him, but it was unforgiveable. He tried to get ahold of me a few times and I just refuse to associate with him in any way. There are a few more details I left out, but trust me, that was for your sake and sanity. Nobody should be exposed to such living conditions!
