They thought of the children!

I rather they just remove the bullies from public school permanently and make it the obligation of the parents to decide how to educate them from there. If there is bullying going on, I'd rather they do something to teach those who are bullied how to stand up for and defend themselves instead of trying to shelter them from bullies.

I never really played the actual dodgeball in school. Â In middle school we had this variation of it in which we threw these soft spongy balls that had like no force...So the losers just stood all the way in the back because it was impossible for the ball to reach that far with any type of impact. Â
Now summer camp...man those were some good times. Â We played dodgeball daily I think
When it was time to go up against the rival camp we lost in every event except the massive dodgeball game.
This is what happened for us at middle school. We used foam balls and called it medic ball because you could still be saved. Now in high school all forms of dodgeball are completely banned, along with football, and pretty much any sport that involves contact or excersizing except basketball.. I used to love those games in gym and recess.Dodgeball has been banned here for years.
the teachers just found creative ways for us to still play it. tweaking the rules a bit, adding different objectives. but in the end, it was still essentially good old dodgeball.

Or they will be more likely to become bullies and there will be a rise in fightingthere should be a rise in fighting.[QUOTE="Diablo-B"][QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]
they need to replace it with boxing.
if kids learn it is not some world ending unbearable pain to get punched they would not be sweating bullys in the first place.

that is the blow off valve for aggression.
schools criminalized school yard scuffles and we have seen what the result was.
a system where if you stand up for yourself you get in trouble with the law.
had i not grown up in a time when you could punch a guy in the face or punch a guy in the face that was picking on my friends who knows what would have happened.
maybe i too would have gone batshyt crazy at the unfairness of it all and shot up the place.
you can't live in an environment where you are terrorized endlessly and have no way out and it not have negative consequences.
I subscribe to this type of thinking. It's the same reason why gamers commit less violent crimes than the general population; shooting people/beating people up/blowing things up, lets people vent so they don't act out irl.
Why not play kickball instead? It's a much funner game...jeremiah06Gotta be trolling... how in the hell can playing dodgeball possibly be trumped by- ugh!- Kickball??
Haha I used to walk into the ball when I didn't feel like playing xDDodgeball should never be banned.
if you dont like it, stand there and let a ball hit you, then go sit on the sidelines.
easy.

That mentality only works for a small number of people dude. Some people can't bring themselves to hurt other people even in defence. I was pretty much one of them at school... things have changed now but at the time it just wasn't in my nature to fight.
One of the biggest d***heads I ever knew at school however was a boxer. All it did was make him a more confident d***head who could dodge a punch.
